In The Beginning... from Vista System

Tech-Sign Advanced Sign Systems Ltd. is proud to present the world debut of the work of Juri Kirilenko. The artist presents milestones in the development of ancient visual communication systems as a series of three-dimensional simulations, combining them with the Vista convex sign system.

The first exposure of this work to the public will be at the international sign trade show ISA 2003 in Las Vegas.

Here is an innovative idea: Visit a sign booth and an art gallery at the same time!

This year, at the ISA 2003 show to be held in Las Vegas, visitors at booth 2246 presenting the Vista System modular sign frame system, will be able not only to see the great variety of signs that are all part of one modular system, but also to be exposed for the first time to the work of Juri Kirilenko. Kirilenko was born in Belarus and immigrated to Israel in 1992, is a self-taught computer graphic artist and 3D animator. “I was always drawn to art”, “as a child he used to paint and draw every free moment he had”, and, at the same time, he explored and studied ancient cultures.

His artistic skill and love of history are combined in the exhibition called In the Beginning, which describes five milestones in the history of signs:

  • Motifs taken from prehistoric cave paintings;
  • Vases made in ancient Greece meant to transmit messages of direction;
  • Elements from direction signs in the ancient Egyptian culture;
  • Elements from the Amerindian world, such as totem poles;
  • And finally the combination of them all through spectacular graphics within the modular sign frames of the Vista System, which constitutes the latest in the world of modular sign systems in the 21st century.

According to Kirilenko, the pieces were designed with the Vista System in mind. The convex system, he says, merely constitutes a frame for the graphics, and in that sense he felt he was being genuine to his work.

The Vista is just the beginning for the contents we put into it. “I was given the possibility of choosing the models that would be most appropriate for each historical reference within which I was creating. That way, for example, I coordinated the pieces related to ancient Greece with the Vista Light, which is, to me, a symbol of innovation and progress.

The effect created by the lit signs as an echo to the graphics combining ancient elements exemplifies the combination of different times, the beauty of the past, and the way the creators of Vista succeeded in creating a framework for it all.”

Even those of you who are not art lovers will be fascinated by the intriguing combination of the ancient, magnificent elements, the most innovative graphics and printing techniques, and their integration in the Vista frames. Come see another way of combining past and present, from the beginning.
