SAWGRASS TECHNOLOGIES LICENSES HILORD CHEMICAL FOR WATER-BASED DYE SUBLIMATION INKS
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (February 6, 2003) Sawgrass Technologies, Inc., the developer of digital transfer inks and Hilord Chemical Corp., the Hauppauge, NY developer of electrostatic and piezo inkjet inks, have reached agreement
permitting Hilord to offer water-based dye sublimation inks for digital printing as a Sawgrass Technologies licensee.
Nathan Hale, CEO of Sawgrass Technologies, stated, "The digital printing marketplace will see Sawgrass being very active this year to assure that the dye sublimation formulations available are the best possible solutions and
meet the appropriate requirements of our intellectual property. The license being granted to Hilord demonstrates our commitment to growing the digital transfer market." The Hilord license is the second dye sublimation ink
license announced this year by Sawgrass Technologies.
Donald Balbinder, President and CEO of Hilord Chemical Corp., said, "In this rapidly changing environment, the graphic arts industry needs business relationships such as the one we have with Sawgrass, to permit the digital inkjet sublimation textile market to have access to a wide range of innovative solutions." Hilord Chemical currently offers a solvent-based dye
sublimation ink.
