FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Global Imaging is signed as Zünd UVjet 215-C Distributor in the Western United States and Canada
LOUISVILLE, CO—March 8, 2003 - Companies such as printers, photo labs and custom
manufacturers now have more access to the Zünd UVjet 215-C flatbed UV Curable printer.
Zünd Sytemtechnik AG (Switzerland), the manufacturer of the number one selling UV Curable flatbed printer in the world, and manufacturer of precision cutters, has signed Global Imaging as their exclusive distributor of the UVjet 215-C in the Western United States and Canada.
Global Imaging, is a leading integrator of professional digital imaging equipment such as large format printers, scanners and high-end digital photography equipment. Global Imaging has been successful in integrating large format printer systems for accounts such as Coors Brewing Company and the FASTSIGNS network. In seeking out new technology to offer their clients, Global Imaging identified UV Curable as the next wave of emerging technology in the printing market and began negotiations to become a US Distributor for Zünd.
As of February 2003 Global Imaging is the exclusive distributor for the Zünd UVjet 215-C in the Western United States from Texas to Washington and in Canada covering British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. UV technology is unique and growing, largely because unlike solvent, aqueous and oil based inkjet inks, UV Curable inks are less dependant on the substrate onto which they are being printed.
The Zünd UVjet 215-C will print on almost any substrate up to 1.5 inches thick including paper, textile fabrics, mesh, banner materials, vinyl, polyester, polycarbonate and other plastics. The flatbed configuration can print on rigid substrates such as metal, plastics, wood, corrugated boards, ceramics, stone and foams. Materials that are run through the Uvjet 215-C can be smooth, uneven or perforated surfaces.
UV inks do not dry on the printed substrate but are cured instantly when run under the UV curing lamps, giving the printed piece excellent durability. Once cured, most printed materials will maintain scratch, chemical and weather resistance for more than two years outdoors. The pieces will also preserve their color and flexibility during this time. This becomes a very cost effective printing process for short run as well as one-of-a-kind’s because the lamination, mounting, film, plate and screen setup are all eliminated.
Sources site significant growth in the inkjet flatbed and UV markets over the next five years due to configuration flexibility, low emission of VOC solvents (keeping worker exposure to hazardous elements much lower), high production throughput rates and short run cost effectiveness. The Zünd UVjet 215-C will be available for demonstration at Global Imaging’s facility in Louisville, Colorado beginning April 21, 2003.
Additionally Global Imaging will demonstrate the printer at the upcoming International Sign Association (“ISA”) convention, www.signs.org, in Las Vegas on April 2-5, 2003 and the Screenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association (“SGIA”) convention, www.sgia.org, in Atlanta on September 15-18, 2003.
Global Imaging hopes to demonstrate the printer throughout the year by bringing clients to Colorado for seminars and showcase events, as well as bringing the printer to large cities for promotion. Promotions in cities outside Colorado will be joined events at which Global Imaging cross-promotes other products such as their Phase One and Sinar digital photography lines. These promotions will be aimed towards allowing users to define creative applications for the Zünd.
