NUR Macroprinters demonstrates new products and inks at ISA Sign Expo 2003

San Antonio, TX; April 3, 2003 — NUR Macroprinters (Nasdaq: NURM), a leading supplier of wide-format inkjet production printing systems for the out-of-home advertising market, is showcasing both currently available wide-format inkjet printing systems and new models at the International Sign Association’s 57th annual Sign Expo 2003 exhibition taking place at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. The company is also showing a new line of inks recently announced for its machines, called the NUR Spirit™ S series.

Equipment demonstrations in the NUR America booth #1474 will feature the NUR Fresco™ HiQ 8C 3200 wide-format production press, the NUR Ultima™ HiQ 5000 mid-range production printer and the NUR Tempo™ flatbed inkjet production press.

NUR recently shipped and installed the 200th NUR Fresco unit at Nogales of Barcelona, Spain, a sign company that specializes in exhibition and display graphics. The company has also recently installed the 500th NUR Salsa wide-format inkjet production printer at Screen Tech Imaging of South Holland, Illinois.

The NUR Ultima and NUR Tempo are new inkjet printing systems the company plans to have available for commercial shipment this year.

A NUR Ultima HiQ 5000 unit was recently installed for beta testing at Beyond Digital Imaging in Markham, Ontario, Canada. NUR expects to begin commercial shipments of the machine in June 2003.

The NUR Tempo is being shown at ISA 2003 in its final configuration prior to beta testing later this year. Commercial shipments are planned to begin in the second half of 2003.

NUR Macroprinters has just recently introduced NUR Spirit - a new generation ink system designed and tested to ensure optimal results from NUR Macroprinters wide-format inkjet production printers and presses. The first products available, the NUR Spirit S series inks, deliver superior image quality and color consistency for a variety of general purpose wide-format printing applications. A two-year warranty* for outdoor durability makes them suitable for use on both indoor and outdoor jobs. They are also designed to deliver a uniform NUR standard color gamut on all NUR Macroprinters inkjet printers and presses to ensure color consistency across all NUR equipment and matching output for use in multi-application campaigns.

“We are pleased that the new NUR Ultima series printers are now in beta testing and look forward to their commercial availability in June,” says Ron Michael, vice president of marketing at NUR Macroprinters Ltd. “Because they provide photo-realistic quality at higher throughput than our entry-level NUR Salsa™ printers, plus a fast ROI, they are sure to be in demand. We believe the NUR Ultima printers will help our customers take the next step up to mid-range volume production levels without sacrificing the quality and photo-realism they need. They’re a welcome addition to our product line in the mid-volume range joining the NUR Fresco which, as a high throughout production press, remains at the top of our line-up in a class by itself.”

“There has been an enormous amount of excitement and anticipation within the industry since NUR first showed a prototype of the NUR Tempo flatbed inkjet press at FESPA last year,” says David Amir, president and CEO at NUR Macroprinters Ltd. “We believe the positive feedback we’ve received from prospective customers and the industry at large are proof that the NUR Tempo will be an excellent complement to screen printing, providing the flexibility, quality and productivity to meet its many challenges.”

About the NUR Ultima printers
The new NUR Ultima photo-realistic printers for medium volume production printing are designed to provide high levels of productivity while offering simplified maintenance procedures, improved ease-of-use, and reduced ink consumption to ensure low operating expenses in high speed printing modes. These 8-color machines provide fast and simple changeover between 4-color and 8-color printing modes for increased flexibility. Available in two models, the NUR Ultima HiQ 3200 (10.5 feet/3.2m wide) and the NUR Ultima HiQ 5000 (16 feet/5m wide), they feature apparent print resolution up to 600 dpi for high quality and speeds up to 810 square feet (76 square meters) per hour. The new 16-foot (5-meter) NUR Ultima HiQ 5000 model marks NUR Macroprinters’ renewed focus on superwide printing applications. The machine leverages NUR’s core expertise in superwide printing acquired over time from the NUR Blueboard™ and the NUR Salsa™ Ultima 5000.

About the NUR Tempo flatbed inkjet press
Designed to meet the needs of wide-format screen printers, the NUR Tempo flatbed inkjet press is designed to print on a wide variety of both rigid and flexible materials including corrugated board, fluted polypropylene, PVC, glass, polycarbonate and standard rolled media. Capable of printing in both 4- or 8-colors at up to 720 dpi resolution and at speeds up to 1300 sq. ft. (120 sq.m) / hour, the NUR Tempo is designed to eliminate the extra steps involved in mounting and lamination common to other traditional methods of printing graphics on rigid surfaces. In addition, it can be connected to stackers and feeders as in the “stop-load-print” paradigm of conventional printing. The NUR Tempo’s rigid output format of up to 10.5 x 6.6 ft. (3.2 x 2 m) combined with a roll-fed format for output up to 7 ft. (2.2m) wide, is an industry first.
