Uncle Sam Brightens Broadway Times Square Recruiting Center Unveils New Led Display For The Us Armed Forces

New York, New York

(May 12, 2003) -- The crossroads of the world are now much brighter as the US Armed Forces debuts their newest addition, a 9x 12large format LED video display on the exterior of their Times Square Recruiting Center. The manufacturer, MULTIMEDIA, is known for the majority of Spectacularvideo display creations in Times Square including ABC Studios, WWF and HSBC. This marks the 20th addition to MULTIMEDIAs large family of displays. The US Armed Forces Recruiting Station, located at 1492 Broadway, is in the heart of Times Square NYC, will be running advertisements for all branches of the Armed Services. The display was officially turned on May 12th, 2003.

The LED display occupies the entire top half of the north facing entrance to the recruiting center. The high-resolution display has a matrix of 224 pixels high by 288 pixels wide with a 160 degree viewing angle. Utilizing MULTIMEDIAs cutting edge 12.7mm eVidia system, the screen depicts multiple Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine based commercials with scrolling information.

The project required many obstacles and after researching vendors, MULTIMEDIA satisfied all needs including front accessibility for repairs, economical price, superior brightness, image quality and control software. "We couldn't be happier," stated Rodger G. Reynolds, Senior Realty Specialist of the Special Projects Branch for the US Army Corps of Engineers.

As tourists, visitors, and residents pass by the Recruiting Station, better known as the booth, they can be interviewed and tested to volunteer for the service. This walk-in station is the most successful station in the country, which plays a significant role in the recruiting effort in New York.
