MACtac® Expands Thermacolor® Offering: New light block products provide rigidity, enhance color density for rollable displays

Stow, Ohio ­ Summer 2003 ­ Blocking out light, background colors and structural frames in rollable displays and wall mount applications is the primary purpose of new additions to the Thermacolor® line of heat-activated polyester films from MACtac®.

The Thermacolor Light Block films are totally opaque backing products featuring low-temperature activation. In addition to light blocking characteristics, the films enhance color density, lend depth and vibrancy to images and create an edge frame for graphic images, posters and other printed materials.

Featuring good layflat characteristics, the new Thermacolor Light Block films are available in 38-inch and 51-inch widths. The option of a 5-mil or 10-mil thickness provides users with a choice for application rigidity, which is especially important when combining backings with overlaminates.

“The 10-mil version is great for the body of an exhibit because the material drapes well, and the 5-mil product works very well for end caps where the product must conform,” explains Fran Lawrence, MACtac Graphic and Distributor product manager.

Thermacolor Light Block films are part of a complete line of products designed for overlamination and encapsulation of graphic images. Suitable for use with any hot-roll laminator, Thermacolor products feature a variety of finishes from high gloss to matte. Choose the gloss for enhancing clarity and color or the matte for reducing glare.
