ISA Participates In European Sign Conference
Alexandria, VA (June 9, 2003) ISA participated in the 18th European Sign Congress, hosted by the European Federation of Illuminated Signs (EVL) May 29-30, in Zaragoza, Spain.
“We see a tremendous opportunity to develop business relationships with our international peers,” said Dean Garritson, ISA president and CEO. “It is through our day-to-day involvement in the arena that we can work to build market access, share technical and educational resources, and improve global relationships.”
Larry Catton, chairman of ISA’s technical committee, and John Johnson, ISA’s executive vice president, participated in the technical committee and EVL board meetings. Johnson, also a member of the EVL board, reported that the meetings included a review of European sign codes led by the EVL sign code committee and a discussion of ISA’s international exchange program.
“ISA is an active participant in international signage issues, and supports its member companies in their efforts to become involved,” stated Johnson.
Johnson reported that Nicholas Pearce, chairman of ISA’s international committee, was re-elected president of EVL, and will serve an additional two-year term.
The European Sign Congress provides the opportunity for sign association leaders to meet with their colleagues and other sign makers, and to establish working relationships that may lead to future business opportunities.
ISA is 2,200 member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 countries.
ISA exists to support, promote and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
