MACtac® Makes Exhibit Production Easy with Fabrication and Assembly Products

Stow, Ohio ­ Spring 2003 ­ Durable, eye-catching graphics are just one vital piece of the exhibit building process. Displays also need to assemble quickly and stay together under demanding conditions. But traditional assembly methods can add bulk, weight and cost to these displays. That’s why, in addition to its overlaminating and image mounting products, MACtac® offers exhibit producers the fabrication and assembly products needed to assemble displays for economical, long-lasting results. MACtac features a selection of bonding and mounting tapes designed for strong bonding to a variety of substrates, including corrugated paper, plastic, rubber and metal. These pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are designed to bond materials to those substrates for quick and easy assembly. For instance, PSAs can be used to finish banners ­ a quicker method than traditional sewing. MACtac offers the following products to solve bonding and fastening dilemmas in exhibit construction: MACmount®, a double-coated, closed-cell polyethylene foam tape, is used for bonding uneven or irregular surfaces, including mounting foam board in display assembly. MACbond® is a double-sided PSA that demonstrates high tack and is ideal for demanding applications, including thin fabrics and magnets. MACfilm® is a series of free films designed for bonding to difficult and low energy surfaces. For instance, MACfilm is effective in mounting nameplates, low-density foams, felts, fabrics, die-cut parts and decorative trim. GS Series High-Strength Adhesive Tape provides uniform application and consistent adhesion for use with metal, wood, polyethylene, polypropylene, glass, rigid composites, hook-and-loop fasteners, extruded polymers and a variety of other substrates. The tape’s thick, heavy-duty adhesive also has gap-filling properties and serves as a moisture barrier.
