INTELICOAT TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES NEW MAGIC® HIGH-STRENGTH BANNER MEDIA

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass, June 24, 2003 ­ InteliCoat Technologies, a world leader in the manufacture of coated paper, film and specialty substrates for imaging and electronic technologies, today announced the availability of Magic® DMVSF, a new 9-mil super high-strength banner media for wide format ink jet printers. The new product is the result of a partnership between InteliCoat and Valéron Strength Films, a leading supplier of film for applications where tear resistance is critical.

Using ValéronŇ Strength Film, a unique cross-laminated high-density polyethylene film, as a base, InteliCoat engineered a specialized top coating to create DMVSF for digital printing applications. Valéron® Strength Film is known for its high-strength and cold-weather performance in other high-performance printing applications like airline baggage tags, horticultural tags, and electrical cord labels. Stronger and more economical than most scrim vinyls on the market today, smooth surfaced DMVSF is ideal for pole banners, suspension banners, pop-up banners, frontlit and backlit rolling signage, and other applications where increased tear resistance is needed. Because it is plasticizer-free and recyclable, DMVSF eliminates the color shifting, shelf life, and environmental problems associated with traditional vinyls. In addition, its light weight makes handling, shipping and installation easier. DMVSF offers a universal ink jet coating that is compatible with most pigmented and piezo ink jet printing systems.
