Weger takes exhibition market by storm with the new VUTEK® PressVu® UV 180/600EC

Large format printer Weger GmbH in Huckeswagen, Germany, has installed the latest VUTEK® PressVu® UV180/600 EC to meet the signage and graphics requirements for some of its largest retail, blue-chip, industrial and franchise clients, including names such as Obi, ICI, JW Ostendorf and GAH.

Prior to the installation of the latest VUTEK® PressVu® half of the work was printed electronically and the other half using eight silk screen printing machines. It is the first digital VUTEK machine installed at Weger and it now has plans to print an increasing proportion all of its signage work electronically to reap the benefits of the digital age.

Manager Heinz Weger says: "With the VUTEK® PressVu® machine we can print on different substrates in one simple step and produce high quality results in eight colors. In former times we did a lot of work on concealed foils for ground materials. Now we can reduce the costs of production because there isn't so much work to do by handicraft.

"Before, on silk screen equipment, it was a multi task procedure to finish a job and that can lead to mistakes. We can also print directly on to rigid substrates rather than carrier films, enabling us to save the time spent installing graphics on an exhibition stand."

The VUTEK® PressVu® is capable of printing eight-colors in up to 600dpi to produce high quality graphics on a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates, all in one pass. The press can also personalize POS items very efficiently in order to produce items for targeted mailings.

Mr Weger says: 'The installation of the VUTEK® PressVu® is a big step for this business as it offers us a world of new possibilities. We can now print direct to substrate on many different types of material, whether it is acrylic, opaque, films or any other material. The quality makes a big difference to exhibitors who need their signage to stand out from the crowd.'

Weger has been in business for 12 years and has 80 employees across the entire group with three offices in Germany and one the Czech Republic, and also provides a worldwide logistics service to the storage and distribution of large format graphics.

One of its sister companies in the group also provides stand design to full installation, ensuring that the graphics produced on its VUTEK® PressVu® UV are shown off to their very best effect.
