A.W.T. World Trade, Inc. Becomes the Exclusive Distributor for the JETBLACK Blow-Off Gun

CHICAGO, IL USA, June 24, 2003 - A.W.T. World Trade, Inc. has been given exclusive distribution rights for the new JETBLACK Blow-Off Gun by Air Control Industries, Ltd. (A.C.I.).

The JETBLACK is a lightweight air movement and drying unit, used in departments where safe removal of excess material is critical.

Until recently, compressed air or simply “brushing off” methods have been accepted in the U.S. These methods fall short, however, in plants where safety and cleanliness are important factors. In many countries outside the U.S., compressed air has become illegal to use, due to safety concerns.

The JETBLACK Blow-Off Gun is an effective, easy-to-use, safe, and cost-efficient alternative to compressed air. It produces air pressures of less than 3 PSI, and is available as portable, floor or wall-mount units.

The wall-mount and floor models are ideal for any company where removal of debris is necessary from footwear and clothing, parts or equipment. The portable unit is light enough to be transported into smaller areas, places that are not easily accessible, or locations where a wall-mount unit would not be practical.

The JETBLACK Blow-off Gun was developed with sound-absorbing foam on all internal surfaces, reducing noise levels below 78 dB. The basic JETBLACK unit comes with 8' of flexible hose, 16' of electrical cable, plug and easy-to-use, sturdy gun nozzle. Options include various voltages, foot switch, motor speed controller and static neutralization pack. An additional electrostatic system can be retrofitted.

The JETBLACK Blow-Off Gun was successfully beta tested at customer sites and received praise for its safe operation, its cost effectiveness, and its safe, low-pressure and noise levels. For example, at one of the Kimberly-Clark plants in England, known as the “Andrex Mill,” health and safety was a prime focus.

Bob Ramsey, Facilities Manager at the mill, said that they had initially commissioned a blow-down booth similar to one being used in their mill in Taiwan. However, upon learning about the JETBLACK Blow-OFF Gun, decided to replace the costly booth with the JETBLACK unit. Ramsey said, “The JETBLACK system has now been widely accepted by all employees and we now have them fitted throughout our site. The advantage of using the high-volume, low-pressure air, JETBLACK system is that it also conserves energy compared to expensive generator-produced compress air.

“This also meets our goal to reduce energy use to best practice levels. We now have a vision that every Crew Room will be fitted with a fixed JETBLACK Blow Gun at the point of entry and in strategic process areas where . . . compressed air would be used.” As a result of the success at their plant in England, Kimberly-Clark is now using the JETBLACK units in the United States.
