Two New Spot Color Foils From Gerber Feature Revolutionary GerberGauge™ Measuring System

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. ­ Gerber Scientific Products today launched two exciting new GerberColor™ spot color foils: Atomic Red and Light Navy.

Theses two new colors feature the company’s new GerberGauge foil measuring system and were developed to satisfy growing customer demand for a wider selection of reds and blues, indicated Gary Soltoff, marketing product manager, Gerber Scientific Products.

“Both colors are very distinctive and unlike anything in our existing GerberColor foils portfolio. They are designed to complement Gerber’s High Performance (HP) Series 220 cast vinyls, thereby expanding creative options for EDGE® users ­ especially those seeking to produce integrated marketing campaigns consisting of printed and cut graphics,” he stated.

He further noted, “Like all GerberColor foils, these colors can be used separately, in conjunction with process and transparent color foils, or overprinted to create custom colors and patterns, and fade and shade effects. This makes them ideal for a wide range of vehicle and decal applications… virtually anywhere a bold red or blue is needed.”

According to Soltoff, the introduction of Atomic Red and Light Navy increases the total selection of GerberColor foils to 87… making this product lineup “the sign making industry’s most comprehensive selection of thermal transfer foils.”

Additional GerberColor foils offering GerberGauge are slated for release later in the year.

The GerberGauge Foil Measuring System is a patent pending innovation designed to provide EDGE owners with an easy-to-read “length remaining” imprinted marking along the backside edge of GerberColor foils. The marking is displayed as a whole number ­ in meters and yards ­ and appears every four inches (10 cm) to indicate the balance of GerberColor thermal transfer color foil remaining in the cartridge. The system, offered at no additional cost to the customer, was developed to help GERBER EDGE and EDGE 2 customers more effectively manage their EDGE-print production and supplies inventory.

GerberColor Spot Series (GCS) Foils are durable, dimensionally stable, resin-based foils designed for use with the GERBER EDGE and EDGE 2, and EDGE READY™ materials. GCS foils produce printed graphics capable of withstanding severe weather and handling conditions in commercial and industrial applications.
