FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Low cost cover creaser improves productivity at Chicago’s Graph Expo Show in September 2003

September 2003 Los Angeles, CA - Covercrease USA, a manufacturer and international distributor of the only revolutionary creasing device that fits on Harris, Macey, Heidelberg, Sheridan, and Muller Martini Saddle Stitchers will be conducting live demonstrations at the largest, most comprehensive prepress, printing, converting and digital equipment trade show and conference in the Americas the annual Graph Expo in Chicago, IL. to show how Saddle Stitcher owners and operators can finally eliminate the age-old “fiber cracking” problems.

An extremely simple cover creasing device enjoying considerable success on various models of Saddle Stitchers is now being manufactured in the U.S. by founding partners Roger Gerrish and Ceil Hansen of Covercrease USA. “The benefits to Bindery owners are remarkable” according to Gerrish, “Bindery operators can now crease and perforate insert tear out cards, heavily inked coated materials, UV Coated materials and 14 point stock covers and beyond, all of which can now be accomplished on the same stitch line. There is no longer a need to outsource covers for die-scoring or putting them through the MBO or comparable machine.”

“The System will bring binderies increased productivity and give them a better bottom line profit,” adds Gerrish. “We have successfully market-tested this System in Australia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Asia-Pacific, and it is gaining popularity because of its simplicity, practicality and overall return on investment.”

Bindery operators can now get the jobs directly from printers and run them without waiting for offline work. Covercrease USA conducted one-on-one interviews with Bindery owners and machine operators. Their research generated the same results Over the years, Bindery owners have tried many different ways to stop fiber cracking on their customers jobs by improvising solutions using piano wires, guitar strings and tapes that theyve wrapped around the cover feeders drums. Overall, they all said it has been frustrating, but now there is a solution. Gerrish and Hansen believe that because the System is so effective, productivity on a stitching line increases significantly. Gerrish says, “Its an extremely simple system that turns out to be a very small investment for a solution to a big problem. The Stitcher becomes so much more effective because of the way the covers drop on the stitching lines gathering chain

What is the secret to this successful solution? The Covercrease USA System is a male/female system in which the female creasing wheel is mounted on an appropriate shaft and the male portion is mounted on to the drum. Both the creasing wheel and the male element can be easily changed in a few minutes. The Systems high performance and wide compatibility will last the life of the saddle-stitching machine and give them a quick return on their investment and unsurpassed reliability.

November 2002 was a big jump for Woodland Hills, California-based Covercrease USA as the founders started their quest to make things better for Binderies in Southern California. The company has made several installations since it opened its doors.

Los Angeles binderies such as OK Bindery, Southern California Bindery and Mailing, Excell Graphics, Pacific Binding, Merrill Corporation, Pacific Crest Bindery, M & M Bindery are just some of the companies that are enjoying the benefits of this remarkable System.

Actual Testimonial From A Covercrease USA Customer

"What usually would have to be scored offline can now be finished inline by the stitcher."

"The Covercrease USA unit is an ingenious little concept that has increased and made more efficient the level of productivity my company is able to provide for our customers. It is a great tool in scoring covers that normally would pose problems for the original cover scoring unit. I fully recommend this unit to anyone who has experienced such situations. This unit is especially good with coated/UV cover stock and can even eliminate cracking when scoring against the grain. I recommend this unit to everyone, except those in the Southern California region. I claim this territory, moo-ha-ha.Just kidding.I'm willing to share!"
