VUTEk® PressVu® UV 180/600 EC installed at Procedes Chenel to expand service offerings

Graphics produced for Paris Air Show using new PressVu® UV 180/600 EC

Procedes Chenel, of Bremen, Germany, has recently installed a PressVu® UV 180/600 EC. It claims to have partnered VUTEk®, because it was the only company to offer a flatbed and roll-to-roll eight-color solution, enabling Procedes Chenel to enter new markets and produce a greater range of graphics for existing customers.

Maik Raute, Managing Director, Procedes Chenel comments, 'The addition of the PressVu® UV is very important to us, not only because of the scale of work that we do, but because it makes the other stages of manufacturing and transportation easier and much more efficient. Through printing direct to the final flexible or rigid substrate, the VUTEk® PressVu® UV enables us to use much less material. What's more, by using non-solvent inks, it is also much more environmentally friendly.

Using its new VUTEk® PressVu® UV 180/600 EC, Procedes Chenel has recently produced graphics for the manufacturer of the Airbus Military aircraft and defence systems, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), who exhibited at the Paris Air Show (Le Bourget Aero Salon). According to Procedes Chanel, the backdrop for the Le Bourget stand, measuring approximately 1200 square meters, was a very difficult job. Printing on to a silver coated material, one of the graphics was 60m long and 6m high and had to be assembled from 1.7m panels to make a complete wall.

Maik comments, 'The accuracy of the VUTEk® printer was fantastic for this job, especially for the graphics with background stripes. Graduating from very light to dark, the striped graphics (60m long by 1cm in height) had to be finely controlled so that the change was even. The design agency were delighted with the result, and so were we.'

With blue chip companies exhibiting at the world's major exhibitions, print quality is an important factor for Procedes Chenel, whose customers include car manufacturers Mercedes Benz, BMW, General Motors, VW, and Rolls Royce. Other customers include the Günter Grass Foundation, General Electric and industrial giants Siemens, ABB and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen.

According to Maik, Procedes Chenel will principally use its VUTEk® PressVu® UV 180/600 EC to break into new markets, but also produce traditional large format applications including banners, outdoor posters and building wraps. The VUTEk® printer is also ideal for products including POP displays, cash points, and applications requiring very small text sizes with very high quality printing.

Procedes Chenel is Germany's leading supplier to the exhibitions market. Providing a concept to installation service, it is well versed in handling sophisticated digital graphics and working to tight deadlines.
