SGIA Expo 2012 - Las Vegas October 18-20, 2012

PRESS RELEASES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 1, 2004

It’s A Bird… It’s A Plane… No, …It’s Super-Pixel!

Clearwater, FL. - The latest product introduction from Hi*Tech Electronic Displays, once again has heads turning. While many LED display manufactures are focusing strictly on smaller & tighter resolution displays, Hi*Tech’s R&D Department has also been paying keen attention to the Mega-Display marketplace.

The Super-Pixel, a cost-effective solution, has been designed to meet the needs of many large format applications; it can be built as a ‘Time & Temp’, ‘Rate Changer’, ‘Message Center’, or any other use that requires large viewing areas. The Hi*Tech Super-Pixel boasts a massive 12” diameter pixel size.

Each pixel utilizes a combination of 160 laser and wide-angle LEDs, for enhanced viewability and delivers a blinding 11,000+ NIT rating. Furthermore, the Super-Pixel as been designed to allow for flexibility of pitch (center -to-center spacing) from 12” to 24” and is user/installer adjustable. What does this mean? One product can comfortably deliver a character size (based on a 7 high font) from 84” to over 160”.

So impressive is this new product Fleet Bank/Cummings Signs imme diately saw the potential of placing a large format ‘time & temp’ unit on top of their flagship 22 story Bridgeport, CT headquarters. ‘When this project first started we had been quoted up to $75,000.00 (by helicopter) just to transport a standard doublefaced replacement of their existing antiquated incandescent unit to its roof top perch. This made the option of an upgrade financially impossible, until we learned about the Super Pixel. The Super Pixel due to its modular design was simply carried up in a freight elevator… a press of a button and the unit was on the roof.

The transportation savings alone made the upgrade a possibility, add to this the fact the Super Pixel was less expensive than a standard T&T unit…it was the obvious solution of choice’. Installers of the Super Pixel were also amazed at the ease with which the unit was installed, and furthermore state that on a clear day the display is visible for five miles or more. This unit is also outfitted with a GPS time clock & environmentally hardened control box, allowing the end-user to simply supply electricity and let the display do the rest.

Hi*Tech Electronic Displays, Inc. was founded in 1984 and has exclusively been delivering cutting edge LED solutions throughout its history.
