Packed full with new features ArtCAM Pro 7 is set to provide Sign Makers with powerful new tools to take their business into a whole new dimension.

The most innovative of the new features is the “3D Face Wizard” (Patent Pending), which enables a novice user to quickly and easily create a 3D CAD model of a human face from a profile photograph.

The new 3D Face Wizard feature gives users the opportunity to enhance their business by offering unique personalised designs that in the past would have been too costly and time consuming to produce

The “3D Face Wizard” guides the user through four simple steps, from the importing of the photo to the generation of the digitally sculpted CAD model. Once created, the 3D Face can be manipulated using the full range of tools within ArtCAM and incorporated into all types of custom, personalised designs.

Other enhancements include advanced 3D Modelling and Distortion Tools, New Vector and Text Manipulation Tools and options for automatic Toolpath Panelling and Toolpath Ordering.

The new Envelope Vector Distortion and Relief Envelope Distortion functionality allows users to alter the shape of the vectors or relief. The distortion box is treated as any other normal vector with regards to editing and manipulating it into the desired shape.

Toolpath Panelling provides the user with the option to break up a toolpath into sections in order to adjust large toolpaths to suite machine envelope and material sizes. There is an overcut option available in this function to ensure all the necessary material is removed around the edges of the pieces. This means there is a nice transition when the individual pieces are assembled. From this menu a report summary and graphics of the panel order can be printed for the machine operators reference.
