Golden Image Entries Invited by SGIA
FAIRFAX, VA—Printer members of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association are invited to enter samples of their finest work for peer evaluation in the Association’s 2004 Golden Image Awards Competition, the industry’s premier showcase of printing and production excellence.
Held during the SGIA ‘04/DPI Conference — the Association’s 56th annual Convention & Exposition scheduled for October 6-9 this year at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA — the Golden Image Awards Competition offers SGIA printer-members an opportunity to compete with the industry’s best commercial work produced worldwide.
All printer members of the Association may enter one submission at no charge.
With a total of 42 separate categories, the Golden Image Awards Competition covers just about any conceivable item — regardless of complexity — produced by graphic imaging processes.
Four awards may be conferred on samples in each subgroup of every category: The Award of Excellence (Gold), Award of Distinction (Silver), Award of Merit (Bronze), or a Certificate of Honorable Mention for commendable performance.
A sample can earn a maximum of 55 points: Image Definition (1-20); Color Appearance (1-10); Registration (1-10); and Job Complexity (1-10). Judges may award up to five bonus points for well-executed special effects.
Judging of all samples fully complying with the entry procedures and rules of the Golden Image Awards Competition will take place Tuesday, October 5, prior to the opening of the SGIA ‘04/DPI Conference-Minneapolis. All conforming entries will be prominently displayed during show hours on Wednesday, October 6; Thursday, October 7; Friday, October 8; and until 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 9.
“Golden Image awards are the industry’s tangible reward for those companies whose goal is to achieve excellence in screen printing and graphic imaging,” says SGIA’s Vice President for Education & Management Al Anderson. “Winners gain international recognition for their accomplishments, instill company pride and boost employee morale.”
SGIA encourages winners to develop promotional campaigns, publicizing their achievements, in receiving a coveted Golden Image Competition award. To this end, the Association enables winners to order duplicate plaques for presentation to their valued customers and key employees instrumental in producing the work.
