ICS Earns Fifth SWOP Certification for Remote Director Configuration Featuring EIZO ColorEdge Monitors

Addition of EIZO ColorEdge CG21 monitors furthers hardware options for users; highlights versatility of ICS approach

New York, NY Integrated Color Solutions (ICS)—the technology leader in providing color management solutions to industries where color accuracy is critical—has earned certification from SWOP®, Inc. for another configuration of its Remote Director™ contract proofing system, bringing to five the number of SWOP-certified Remote Director Configurations.

SWOP-certified Remote Director configurations now feature the EIZO ColorEdge™ CG21 LCD Monitor, in addition to the previously certified Apple 20-inch Cinema LCD Display, Apple 23-inch High-Definition Cinema LCD display, and Sony Artisan 21-inch CRT monitor system configurations. Each of the five SWOP-certified Remote Director configurations runs on the Apple Power Mac G4 computer under OSX 10.2 (Jaguar), and uses the GretagMacbeth Eye-One spectrophotometer to calibrate each monitor and verify the color of each proof.

“This is just another example of flexibility offered by SWOP-certified monitor-based proofing systems from Remote Director” said Jeffery Silverman, ICS President and CEO. “By increasing our SWOP-certified configurations, we continue to leverage the versatility of Remote Director as a monitor-based color management system.”

Each of the five SWOP-certified Remote Director system configurations can also be used with the new ICS PressOK™ scanner option. The remote Director PressOK option digitizes press sheets up to 27 by 38 inches in less than four minutes and automatically transmits them over the Internet to approvers’ color-calibrated monitors in a Remote Director proofing session, allowing print buyers to approve a press run anywhere in the world without leaving their desks.

EIZO ColorEdge CG21
The EIZO ColorEdge CG21 LCD color calibration monitor offers professionals in the printing and design industries precise color rendering on a large 21-inch screen with a 1600 x 1200 native resolution. In addition, it comes with EIZO’s proprietary ColorNavigator™ software to allow precise calibration of brightness, color temperature and gamma. With many other desirable features, including a thin bezel design and digital/ analog inputs, the ColorEdge CG21 offers a very appealing reason for graphics professionals to make the switch to LCD monitors.

About Remote Director
Remote Director is the first SWOP-Certified, monitor-based contract proofing system that applies advanced color management to verify the accuracy of every monitor and every proof. Running on commercially available hardware, Remote Director software allows multiple reviewers in dispersed locations to view, collaborate and comment on color as well as content, and to build a digital record of the proofing process from start to finish including legal signoff. Reviewers can collaborate in real-time or work at their own convenience, allowing photographers, agencies, clients, prepress shops and printers to communicate more effectively while accomplishing in hours what used to take days. Uniquely supporting both RGB and CMYK workflows, this flexible proofing solution can be used for proofing content, imposition, critical color and predicting press results, as well as for the final contract proof. Downloadable via the Internet, the software is easy to install, easy to use, and integrates into any proofing workflow.
