Summa Introduces Two New 63-inch Width Cutters Drag-knife and tangential models available with OPOS 2.0 contour cutting standard
Seattle, Washington -- Summa Inc. today announced two new vinyl-cutting plotters designed primarily for use in the wide format digital printing market. Featuring Summa’s new OPOS 2.0 image alignment technology, SummaSign Pro D1600 SL and T1600 SL cutters automatically align and die-cut digital and screen-printed vinyl up to 63.8 inches wide, making them ideal for cutting screen graphics and digital solvent output from wide format printers by Mutoh, Océ, Mimaki and many others.
The SummaSign Pro D1600 SL is a grand format vinyl cutter capable of cutting all popular widths of vinyl from 6.7 to 63.8 inches in width. It employs a drag-knife cutting method with tangential emulation that’s ideal for cutting at higher speeds. The integrated OPOS 2.0 image alignment system automatically registers printed vinyl graphics. OPOS 2.0 offers repetitive cutting modes for both sheet-fed and roll-fed media, to increase workflow productivity when die-cutting multiple copies of the same graphic.
The SummaSign Pro T1600 SL offers the same cutting width and OPOS 2.0 features as the D1600 SL. But it employs a True Tangential™ cutting method, which is ideal for cutting thick material and intricate designs. Summa recommends True Tangential cutters for graphics departments that use thicker laminates or contour-cut complex images and designs.
Both cutters are well equipped with stands, media collection baskets and media-feed rollers. Speed and performance is exceptional, with top cutting speeds of 56 inches-per-second and guaranteed cutting accuracy on plots up to 40 feet in length. Key features for both include:
Maximum media width: 63.8 inches
Maximum cut width: 62 inches
Cut speed: Up to 56 inches-per-second, diagonal
Connectivity: USB 1.1, Centronics Parallel or Serial
Software support: Cutting supported in all vinyl cutting applications;
OPOS 2.0 supported in FlexiSIGN, SignLab, CoCut, and other popular programs
Tool compatibility: Blades, plotting pens, pouncing tool (pounce kit optional)
