Gerber Expands Wide Format Imaging Family With GERBER ELAN™ XL Inkjet Printing System -New Drop-on-Demand Piezoelectric Product
SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. Gerber Scientific Products launched a new high-speed, high-resolution inkjet printer further expanding its portfolio of world-class imaging systems.
The GERBER ELAN XL is a wide format, inkjet printer that prints directly onto a variety of uncoated media up to 64 inches wide using new Gerber non-toxic organic solvent inks the key differentiator of this product. These outdoor-durable inks, which require no special handling, are also highly resistant to chemicals and abrasion without lamination, and complement Gerber’s existing family of environmentally friendly, user-safe imaging technologies.
In addition to its breakthrough inks, the GERBER ELAN XL features dual CMYK colors and precision motion control, and allows print speeds of up to 375 square feet per hour. It generates smooth images by virtue of its variable dot printing technology, which adjusts the size of the ink droplets from each of its nozzles to produce finer detail and solid, crisp colors that are closer to true continuous-tone imaging. Resolutions range from 360 dpi to true 1440 dpi.
The GERBER ELAN XL is driven by ImageRIP™ Pro and Plus software by Onyx®, and is therefore appropriate for shops seeking higher throughput and greater control over the printing process.
Gerber’s unique integration of inkjet technology with media, ink, and software provides outstanding image quality and durability. The GERBER ELAN XL’s capability to print on untreated media gives industry professionals access to an extensive range of low cost output, including large format indoor/outdoor sign and banner and vehicle graphics applications.
The GERBER ELAN XL will be available in May 2004.
The GERBER ELAN XL employs Gerber’s Matched Technology System™ offering superb quality and reliability at an affordable price. Gerber’s Matched Technology System assures customers that they will experience repeatable, reliable and high quality operation of their sign making systems.
