Project Sublimation - New Series of Workshops For Sublimation Industry, Presented By Hanes, Geo. Knight, Sawgrass Technologies, & Smart Designs
Mt. Pleasant, SC - Sawgrass Technologies, Inc., announces the launch of Project Sublimation, a series of workshops designed to provide the knowledge, skills and strategies for growing a profitable sublimation business.
The workshops are intended for sublimation users, regardless of skill level, who want to develop their enterprise. "Whether someone is just getting started or wants a better understanding of how sublimation fits into their business model, Project Sublimation will provide the right information," explains Edward Spear, Director of Business Development for Sawgrass. "The workshops will teach owners how to get the most out of their equipment and their business."
Designed and written by leading professionals in the transfer imaging industry, the curriculum for each two-day program balances theory with hands-on training and actual customer case scenarios. The interactive style of Project Sublimation workshops offers attendees a unique opportunity to learn from key players in the Sublimation industry - and hear real life stories about what's being done in the marketplace.
"The game has changed. Project Sublimation workshops give people a huge leg-up in a rapidly evolving industry," says Spear. "The traditional approach to running a sublimation shop is no longer sufficient to succeed as a modern, profitable business. The competition in the graphics marketplace is stiff. This means that you have to be better."
Project Sublimation is the product of a dialog among industry leaders, distributors and end users who recognize that staying ahead of changing market conditions and new technologies is every sublimation user's challenge. In an increasingly sophisticated and knowledge-driven marketplace, outdated skills and strategies prevent sublimation users from keeping up. The Project Sublimation workshop series was designed to make critically important industry knowledge readily available.
Hanes Printables, Geo. Knight, Sawgrass Technologies, and Smart Designs are the Presenting Sponsors for the 2004 series. Certified Project Sublimation specialists and regional reseller partners will host each workshop. Other presenters include recognized leaders of the sublimation industry, featured writers and editorial staff for from trade publications, successful business owners and educators from the digital imaging arena.
As in other technology-driven fields, advancements in printer, ink, press and substrate technologies are transforming the role of sublimation business owners. According to Workshop Facilitator Josephine McMullen, "What makes Project Sublimation different is that the curriculum doesn't reflect just one technology or one group's perspective. We went to shop owners, distributors and manufacturers to figure out what people needed to know to gain a competitive advantage."
"We listened to the people with decades of experience, but we also tried to go beyond traditional business models to find out where the industry was going. Project Sublimation teaches people how to anticipate these changes and use them to their advantage."
Demand for the workshops is high. In 2004, about two dozen Project Sublimation workshops will be presented throughout the United States and Canada.
