SIGN-A-RAMA Selects Roland SOLJET EX Series For Its Sign Shops Around the World
West Palm Beach, FL -- SIGN-A-RAMA, the world’s largest sign franchise with over 700 retail outlets in 34 countries, has selected the Roland SOLJET SC‑540EX printer/cutter for use in its full-service sign stores.
All SIGN-A-RAMA locations create and install vehicle-boat-aircraft lettering, window graphics, magnetics, yard signs, banners, neon, nameplates, and many other diverse and creative signs and sign services. For the fifth consecutive year, SIGN-A-RAMA has been named the top sign franchise in Entrepreneur magazine’s annual Franchise 500® list.
“SIGN-A-RAMA has set the standard for sign shops around the world with quality craftsmanship and first-class customer service,” said David Goward, Roland Senior Vice President and General Manager. “We are thrilled SIGN-A-RAMA selected the SC-540EX for its new franchises. It’s a real testament to the value of Roland inkjet technology.”
“Roland has been a cornerstone of the sign industry for the past 20 years,” said Jim Tatem, SIGN-A-RAMA Vice-President of Support Services. “The new EX Series offers production speed, photorealistic print quality and bulletproof reliability. Its unique print/cut technology and advanced Eco-SOL INK will help our sign stores generate new business and delight existing customers.”
Roland has a worldwide reputation in the sign industry for innovation, quality and reliability. Roland Eco-SOL INK, a revolutionary mild solvent, enables VersaCAMM and SOLJET EX inkjets to print directly onto both uncoated and coated media. Using this technology, the EX Series has reinforced Roland’s award-winning tradition by winning two DPI Product of the Year awards and sweeping the DIMA wide format printing awards last year.
SOLJET EX Series
The SOLJET EX Series includes the 104-inch SJ-1000EX, the 74-inch SJ-740EX, the 64-inch SJ-640EX and the 54-inch SC-540EX. All four inkjets use Eco-SOL INK with an integrated heating system to print durable outdoor graphics on both coated and uncoated materials. They are ideal for the production of signs, banners, POP displays and vehicle wraps.
The SC-540EX can also automatically contour cut printed graphics without reloading or repositioning and can function as a stand-alone vinyl cutter. For laminating graphics, simply remove prints, laminate and reload them for precision cutting. The Quadralign™ four-point optical registration system automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion.
“Combining the printing and cutting technology was a major selling point considering the placement of Roland equipment in a SIGN-A-RAMA store. We will continue to use a separate stand-alone cutter for our vinyl signage production, while utilizing the SC-540EX for the printing and cutting of all of the stores’ digital graphics,” said Tatem. “Since expanding into the digital market in the mid 1990’s, our stores have seen more and more of a demand for outdoor durable, full color graphics. Our objective was to equip them with the best equipment to accomplish this, simultaneously driving production labor and material costs down. We feel the Roland equipment will help us accomplish that objective.”
