VUTEk® Printed Inflatable Drinks Bottle Is A Winner At Sogndal Stadium

Max Print of Bergen, Norway, has used its new VUTEk® UltraVu® 3360 SC to print graphics for an eight-meter by two-meter inflatable drinks bottle direct to PVC, used to promote a new soft drink for manufacturer Lerum.

Frank Bruaroy, partner at Max Print comments, 'Utilizing the UltraVu® 3360 SC's six-color and 360 dpi resolution capability, the inflatable drinks bottle graphics were produced in six sections - the largest measuring, 3.12m x 4.22m. Thanks to our VUTEk® UltraVu® 3360 SC, we were able to print all six sections easily in just one hour.'

Each section was welded together and the bottle inflated like a balloon. It made its debut appearance at Norwegian Sogndal soccer stadium, for a match against Sogndal and Brann.

Frank continues, 'We had a fantastic response from spectators at the Sogndal Stadium - the bottle really made an impact. It took less than 2 hours to install and it provided a colorful focal point for when the footballers were off the pitch. Not only was the soft drinks bottle a winner but Sogndal also won the match 2-0. Despite not having made a bottle like this before, we encountered no problems - it was a really fun and interesting job.'

To further the promotion, free soft drinks were given away at the match. Both the gifts and inflated bottle received positive feedback from an excited crowd. Since the soccer match, the Lerum drinks bottle has also made appearances at sports shops, events and supermarket car parks throughout Norway.

Despite having been in business only a few months, Max Print is already making a name for itself in the beverage industry. When another soft drinks manufacturer, Syltbrus, needed a vehicle wrap to advertise a new Syltbrus soda to be sold throughout Norway, it too called upon Max Print's expertise. Printing onto reflective vinyl, Max Print produced two 8m x 2.4m wraps for a delivery lorry in just one hour.

Frank comments, 'Printing onto reflective vinyl was a first for us - we were very impressed with how the VUTEk® inks adhered to its shiny surface and retained their vibrant color. The light reflects off the vinyl, giving the finished result a real impact.'
