Artfix Uses VUTEk® UltraVu® 3360 EC's High Quality Print Capabilities To Reproduce Picasso Paintings

Artfix Print Solutions of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has used its VUTEk® UltraVu® 3360 EC's high quality printing capabilities, to produce 24 billboards featuring brightly colored Picasso paintings. Utilizing the UltraVu® 3360 EC's eight-color and 360 dpi benefits, Artfix was able to accurately reproduce the color and quality of Picasso's many masters.

Printing a total of 2000 sq m of graphics onto vinyl, Artfix produced the 24 billboards in only 25 hours. The images featured high quality reproductions of renowned Picasso paintings, which were installed all over the city. The billboards were designed to promote a Picasso exhibition, which took place as part of celebrations for the 450-year anniversary of the city of Sao Paulo.

The Picasso exhibition took place from January 25th to 2nd May 2004, at the OCA exhibition center, based in Sao Paulo. Attracting over 350,000 visitors, the exhibition was considered a huge success.

If we had been using anything other than a VUTEk®, I have no doubt that we would have struggled to match Picasso's intense colors, and do justice to the originals. In addition, when you take on this sort of job, there is no hiding - everybody knows what a Picasso painting should look like. Thanks to the consistently high quality print from the UltraVu® 3360 EC, we had the confidence to take the job on.'

With its eight-color, 360 resolution capabilities, the UltraVu® 3360 is able to print onto a variety of materials, and is easily converted between super fast quality printing and photo quality printing. The UltraVu® 3360 EC allows a printer to cater for a wide variety of applications, providing a good return on investment. Applications include point of purchase advertising, murals, stage graphics and vehicle wraps.

In addition to the Picasso job, Artfix recently used its VUTEk® UltraVu® 3360 EC to print 100 vehicle wraps for a Brazilian drinks company. Printed onto self-adhesive vinyl, the graphics were treated with a special varnish for protection against abrasion and UV rays. Advertising a drink called Cachaca 51, the graphics measured a total of 2250 sq m and took Artfix a total of 12 days to install throughout the country, by a team of 60 engineers.
