Golden Image Entry Deadline Approaches
FAIRFAX, VA - August 30 is the deadline for printer-member companies of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association to submit samples of their finest work for peer evaluation in the Association’s 2004 Golden Image Awards Competition, the industry’s premier showcase of printing and production excellence.
All printer members of the Association may enter one submission at no charge.
Held during the SGIA ‘04/DPI Conference - the Association’s 56th annual Convention & Exposition, October 6-9 this year at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - the Golden Image Awards Competition offers SGIA printer-members an opportunity to compete with the industry’s best commercial work produced worldwide.
With a total of 42 separate categories, the Golden Image Awards Competition covers just about any conceivable item - regardless of complexity - produced by graphic imaging processes.
Judging, of all samples fully complying with the entry procedures and rules of the Golden Image Awards Competition, will take place Tuesday, October 5, prior to the opening of the SGIA ‘04/DPI Conference-Minneapolis. All conforming entries will be prominently displayed during show hours on Wednesday, October 6; Thursday, October 7; Friday, October 8; and until 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 9.
A sample can earn a maximum of 55 points based upon Image Definition (1-20); Color Appearance (1-10); Registration (1-10); and Job Complexity (1-10). Judges may award up to five bonus points for well-executed special effects.
Four awards can be conferred on samples in each subgroup of all 42 categories: The Award of Excellence (Gold), Award of Distinction (Silver), Award of Merit (Bronze), or a Certificate of Honorable Mention for commendable performance.
SGIA encourages winners to develop promotional campaigns, publicizing their achievements, in receiving a coveted Golden Image Competition award. To this end, the Association enables winners to order duplicate plaques for presentation to their valued customers and key employees instrumental in producing the work.
Complete information about participating in SGIA’s 2004 Golden Image Awards Competition is posted on the Association’s web site: SGIA.org.
