Drytac Acquires Hot Press UK

Richmond, VA - Drytac Corporation has announced the acquisition of Tullis Russell Hot Press, Ltd. by Drytac's European manufacturing division, Drytac Europe, Ltd. The acquired company, which will be renamed Hot Press, Ltd, will continue to manufacture the Hot Press glass top vacuum press, a mainstay product of the picture framing and graphics finishing industries.

According to Drytac president Marc Oosterhuis, the purchase of the Hot Press manufacturing facility completes a strategic process begun last year with the acquisition of Hot Press's North American distribution operations. "We have been serving the picture framing industry for more than 25 years with dry mount tissue, laminates and equipment," says Oosterhuis. "Acquiring the rights to the Hot Press machines moved us closer to our goal of being a one stop resource for the North American market."

The vacuum presses are used to dry mount, laminate, texturize and "canvas transfer" posters, photos, art prints and delicate fabrics to foam board, wood, canvas and other graphics materials. The brand is well regarded by picture framers and other finishing professionals due to the exclusive glass top design. The transparent top allows operators to visually check mounting and laminating materials during the bonding process, minimizing costly re-dos. The series is available in four formats ranging from 29 x 41? to 56? x 103?
