Onyx Graphics Partners with the Avery Dennison Graphics Division to Offer Online ICC Profiles
MIDVALE, UT -- Onyx Graphics has partnered with the Avery
Dennison Graphics Division North America to provide ICC profiles to
customers using Avery Dennison media products in large format printers
driven by Onyx Graphics software packages. Onyx Graphics will develop color
profiles for Avery Graphics, making it easier for customers to use Avery
media for digital printing applications. The profiles are now available
online through Onyx Graphics¹ and Avery Dennison¹s web sites.
Developed by the International Color Consortium, ICC profiles are widely
used throughout the digital color display and printing industries to
translate color data created on one device (e.g. an RGB monitor) into the
native color space of another device (e.g. a CMYK inkjet printer), ensuring
accurate color reproduction.
As part of this agreement, Avery Graphics will exclusively offer barcodes on
all profiled pressure-sensitive and banner solvent inkjet printable media
that are run on the most popular solvent and eco-solvent printers. With a
simple scan using a standard barcode reader, users can eliminate the need
for manual settings on ink configuration, media type, page size and heat
settings, streamlining the workflow process and reducing the margin of human
error. Onyx Graphics and Avery Dennison will provide barcodes on new media
as they become available.
"I am very excited about this proactive partnership between Onyx Graphics
and Avery Dennison as it shows a high level of commitment to our mutual
customers," said Cassey Scoffield, Director of Sales & Business Development
for The Americas at Onyx Graphics. "The goal is to make it very easy for
our customers to incorporate Avery profiles into Onyx Graphics workflow
giving them the ability to produce high quality prints while reducing their
media waste. I am also excited to introduce Onyx Graphics barcode
technology to this solution as I see this "industry first" becoming an
industry standard."
"We are very impressed with the manner in which Onyx strives to offer not
just software but solutions to their customer base," said Tom Durner,
Business Development Manager, Avery Dennison. "This is a strategy which we
have employed for years as well. With this alliance of two industry
leaders, our goals are to simplify the printing process by minimizing
non-productive time searching for the correct profile and making the
printing process more profitable by eliminating scrap generated by having to
adjust colors."
