Even More Products And Services Are Around The Bend For Modernistic’s Customers
ST. PAUL, MN Minnesota-based graphics company Modernistic Inc. today announced it had acquired J&J Fabricators, Inc, a custom plastic fabrication operation, on December 1, 2004. The acquisition of J&J offers Modernistic customers the valuable opportunity to receive “in-house” routing and bending services while further expanding Modernistic’s wide range of capabilities.
“J&J’s capabilities present our customers with a whole new menu of products for producing effective POP displays, in addition to many other useful fabricated products. We believe that the more in-house capabilities we offer our customers, the more quality, speed and price control they get on their important projects. That means the world to our customers, so it’s top priority at Modernistic,” says Jim Schulte, Modernistic’s CEO.
Indeed, with J&J’s resources added to the Modernistic mix, customers can now take advantage of prototyping, customized designs and new plastic fabrication capabilities utilizing heat bending and routing processes, straight line bending, CNC routing and milling, lathe turning, cutting, deburring, edge finishing and solvent welding. This means quality-controlled, on-site fabricated products such as sign holders (shelf, countertop, wall), store fixtures and displays, kiosks, literature holders, in-store signage and machine covers.
Says former J&J founder and president, Jim LeVasseur, “What has made J&J a leading fabricator in the Midwest has always been our focus on the ‘straightness’ of the bend. That’s been the key to our success.”
Repeat business from J&J customers proves that to be more than just a lofty claim.
“Our customers have a history of coming back again and again. They don’t have to worry about our quality,” says LeVasseur. “We’re always on spec, we’re timely and we never promise what we cannot deliver.”
J&J will continue to deliver that same quality along with versatility, as part of the Modernistic team. Design and prototyping capabilities allow for a variety of projects, from small to large. For example, the router can handle pieces as large as 79” x 120”; the CNC drill can execute a job as small as 15” x 31”.
“And J&J’s former customers will now appreciate the wide range of quality screen printing and die cutting capabilities that Modernistic has to offer. It’s a win-win situation for everyone,” says LeVasseur, who will continue in his role as manager of operations at the fabrication division.
