EFX Light Columns From Design Concepts Manufacturing Installed At Water Ski Museum To Attract Viewers To Its Prized Sports History Collection

Design Concepts Manufacturing, Inc. produces EFX light columns, a fast growing collection of patent pending acrylic light columns and towers that add color, light, and motion in interior and exterior applications. These eye-catching EFX lights create an "Aquallusion", the illusion of flowing water without using any water. They utilize airflow systems, digital LED color changers, and special optical lenses to produce a mesmerizing, aesthetically pleasing visual experience.

From a tranquil, serene motion to an electrifying rush of color, EFX lights attract attention in any environment. For the grand reopening of the Water Ski Experience Hall of Fame/ Museum in Polk City, Florida, Design Concepts Manufacturing designed 6 EFX light columns each standing over 10 feet tall to enhance the exhibits. The museum, which is home to an array of colorful water sports memorabilia dating back more than 75 years, wanted vibrant and colorful pieces to attract viewers to their prized pieces of sports history. Their light columns compliment the colorful sports gear while acting as decorative support for an aluminum display frame.

In creating the Water Ski Experience, an updated version of the Water Ski Museum that has existed since the 1980's, the design team at Echo Artz of Kissimmee, Florida wanted to create an exciting environment for guests to learn about water skiing. According to Carole Lowe, Water Ski Hall of Fame and Museum Director, "The designers wanted to use lots of color since they believed this makes the experience more fun and inviting. The challenge was to make a big splash for years to come on a limited budget. The light columns exceeded my high expectations toward meeting these goals. The designers even suggested a nautical look for the bases of the light columns so Design Concepts Manufacturing designed them to look like lobster traps. I couldn't be happier with the results which were completed ahead of schedule and within our budget."

The planners of the new museum wanted to give visitors an idea of what water skiing is all about. The light column display at the Water Ski Experience creates the feel of being near water for guests as they view water sports exhibits. While functioning as practical display supports, the columns give guests the feeling of being in and around water without the maintenance and risks associated with using real water. According to an Echo Artz spokesperson, "We hired Design Concepts to create 6 10 ft. columns for the Water Ski Hall of Fame project. They gave us a flowing water effect without having to worry about the maintenance involved with a real water display. The columns were designed to support an aluminum decorative faƧade made by Sign Producers. My clients love them and I don't have to worry about them. I think they're a great new decorative design element for themed environments." Maintenance of the custom columns installation at the Water Ski Hall of Fame and Museum has consisted of only one maintenance call over last 2 years.

EFX acrylic light columns feature special optical lenses and halogen lighting with a colored glass filter. They have a painted base and decorative top cap that is available in standard black, white, and grey. The columns contain a UL listed 120-volt industrial fan motor with speed control. They offer the ultimate in visual flexibility when used with optional LED lighting with an on board control, 7 set colors and 14 programmed color changing events, with 16 different speeds. Lighting options include a DMX controller universal light/motion device and a wireless RGB controller and remote wand that controls up to 6 units. Motor control options include a wireless on/off remote motor control that also controls up to 6 units.

EFX light columns are manufactured utilizing state-of-the-art technology and are made of the highest quality materials. They are available in standard sizes and custom design from 4.5" to 16" in diameter X 4' to 24' tall.
