ISA Awards Brimley Honor Posthumously To William W. Anderson

Alexandria, VA The International Sign Association (ISA) awarded the 2005 Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award posthumously to William “Bill” W. Anderson, president of Midwest Sign & Screen Printing Supply Co., St. Paul, Minn.

“There are many words that describe Bill,” said ISA Chairman of the Board Ebbie Phillips as he presented the award to Anderson’s family today during the Keynote Luncheon at the 2005 International Sign Expo in Las Vegas. “Bill was a leader, a mentor, a coach. He brought wit, honesty, and charisma to the sign industry. We will long remember his enthusiastic leadership, optimistic realism, unique sense of humor, and commitment to relationships: personal, professional, and spiritual.”

Anderson devoted 42 years to building Midwest Sign & Screen Printing Supply, and created the “Midwest Way,” a customer-service philosophy that empowers employees to be the best they can be in roles that have resulted in success for the company. Owing to Anderson’s forward-thinking ways, Midwest has grown to encompass nine locations in the western half of the United States.

Anderson served on various industry boards, including SGIA and ISA. Anderson’s wife, Nancy and his sons Luke and Paul accepted the award on his behalf.

The Distinguished Service Award is ISA’s most prestigious award and is given annually to an ISA member who demonstrates outstanding dedication and service to the association and the sign industry over an extended period of time.

ISA is a 2,200 member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 foreign countries. ISA exists to support, promote, and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
