The Largest Signage Tradeshow In The World Breaks The Records!
Alexandria, VA - Attendance at the International Sign Association’s (ISA) recent 2005 International Sign Expo jumped nearly 30 percent over the previous Expo, breaking all of the association’s previous records. This year, we had 21,777 attend the Expo. By comparison, 17,012 attended Expo 2004 in Orlando and 16,903 attended Expo 2003 in Las Vegas.
The Expo, held March 30-April 2 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas, showcased 1,647 exhibit booths demonstrating the newest technologies in the electronic sign, printing, and graphics industries.
"Our exhibitors were delighted with the quality and quantity of attendees,” said ISA President and CEO Lori Anderson. “By all reports, sign manufacturers and product suppliers did a significant amount of business at the Expo.”
ISA Senior Vice President Brian McNamara attributes the increase in attendance to an improving economy, more educational opportunities, and access to more exhibitors than ever before. “With nearly 600 companies showing the latest in sign products, services, and technology all in one place, people in the sign business knew that Expo 2005 was the place to be,” he said.
This year’s Expo also set records in exhibit booth sales, the number of exhibiting companies, and the number of attendees registered for the ISA Discovery Seminar program. These record-breaking numbers are as follows:
- 1,647 exhibit booths sold—a 10 percent increase over the 2004 Expo
- 582 companies exhibiting—a 10 percent increase over the 2004 Expo
- 3,710 registered attendees for ISA’s Discovery Series—a 78 percent increase over last year
“We’ve exhibited at the Expo for at least the last 12 years every time the show is held in the western section of the country,” said Ken von Wald, president of Denco Sales, Inc. “But this year was such a good show that many of our customers said they were going to next year’s show when it’s in Orlando,” von Wald continued. “For this reason, we’re going to exhibit in the eastern part of the country for the first time next year. It’s such a great experience.”
Over 70 percent of the show floor space has been reserved for the 60th International Sign Expo, scheduled for April 5-8, 2006, in Orlando, Fla. “We are enthusiastic that the exhibiting community continues to support ISA and our Expo,” said Anderson. “With nearly three-quarters of the show floor already sold, we look forward to another successful event next year.”
