ISA Names Its Officers For 2006
Alexandria, VA - The International Sign Association (ISA) Board of Directors recently announced the association’s Executive Committee for 2006. Thomas L. Cummings III, COImage Associates, was named ISA’s 2006 chairman; Bert Guinee, Miratec Systems, was named vice chairman; and Teresa M. Young, Sign Biz, Inc., was elected secretary/treasurer. Ebbie Phillips, Tyson Sign Systems, will serve as immediate past chairman.
“Teresa brings to the Executive Committee a solid sales and marketing background,” says Phillips, who currently serves as ISA’s Chairman of the Board. “She has the savvy to know how to present ISA to the public, to the business community, and to our members.
“One of our biggest challenges is deciding on which of the many opportunities ISA has before it in the areas of government relations, education, technical and tradeshows,” says Phillips. “We have two ad hoc committees studying the possibilities now. By the time their reports are issued, the 2006 Executive Committee will be in place to take full advantage of the information.”
Cummings has been a member of the ISA Board since 1999. He served on the board of the National Electric Sign Association, ISA’s predecessor, from 1985 to 1992. Guinee has served on the ISA Board since 1999 and is currently ISA’s secretary/treasurer. Young has served on ISA’s Board since 2002 and is currently chair of ISA’s Marketing & Communications Committee.
“The members of the 2006 Executive Committee all come from diverse backgrounds, but we share in common a dedication to the sign industry,” he says. “We have a long history with each other. We respect each other’s abilities and strengths. We’re going to work very well together.”
ISA is a 2,200 member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 foreign countries. ISA exists to support, promote, and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
