Gerber Introduces Two New Overlaminate Products for Its Inkjet Printing Systems

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. ­ Gerber Scientific Products introduces two new overlaminate products, GERBER EZ GUARD liquid overlaminate and GERBER LUSTER film overlaminate, to its line of ImagePerfect™ materials.

GERBER EZ GUARD and GERBER LUSTER provide graphics with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance and protect graphics from UV exposure. These overlaminate products have been fully tested for compatibility and integrated into the Matched Technology System to produce optimal results. “Both of these overlaminates are important additions to the growing ImagePerfect materials line,” stated Candy Desmarais, marketing product specialist, Gerber Scientific Products.

GERBER EZ GUARD is a liquid overlaminate designed for graphics printed on the GERBER SOLARA UV, GERBER EDGE, EDGE 2 and EDGE FX, GERBER MAXX 2, Gerber Jetster and GERBER ELAN XL. EZ GUARD is compatible with many types of solvent inks including heavier solvent inks and Eco solvent inks. Easy to use, apply and clean up, this non-yellowing overlaminate enhances the visual appearance of graphics and in the case of banner materials, creates a smoother surface so graphics are easier to clean and resist dirt build-up. The application process requires no special equipment.

“GERBER EZ GUARD is a unique, low cost lamination solution designed for a variety of water resistant applications. This product can be applied in minutes using inexpensive rollers found in any hardware or home store,” noted Desmarais.

GERBER LUSTER is a 2.0 mil, clear glossy PVC based overlaminate film, produced for Gerber by 3M and designed for graphics printed on the GERBER ELAN XL and Gerber Jetster. GERBER LUSTER is also approved for use with the ColorSpan DisplayMaker 72S, Mimaki JV3 Series, Seiko ColorPainter 64S, and other solvent inkjet printers.

Ideal for protecting solvent inkjet graphics, GERBER LUSTER is suitable for applications that feature compound curves, corrugations, or riveted surfaces and when using appropriate base films. Said Desmarais, “GERBER LUSTER comes in 3 widths to provide end users with the right solution for their digital print lamination needs. This line of film laminates are a cost-effective way to ensure that graphics are protected from harsh environmental conditions.”
