SGIA Delivers Roadmap for Success with Traveling Workshop - October 28-29 in Portland, Oregon
Fairfax, Virginia - SGIA takes to the streets with "Advanced Garment Printing: A Roadmap to Success," (http://www.sgia.org/reg_wkshp/portland.cfm.) a regional workshop series designed by garment decorators for garment decorators. The workshop will meet October 28-29, at industry leader Latitudes in Portland, OR. Charlie Taublieb (Taublieb Consulting) and Dane Clement (Great Dane Enterprises) will lead the two-day sessions.
"This two-day clinic is not for novices, although we'll touch on some fundamentals. It will take your shop to an elite level," said SGIA Vice President, Technical Services, Johnny Shell, noting the prerequisite experience in screen-making and computer graphics.
Clement will cover pre-press magic on day one; on day two, Taublieb will teach on-press strategies. Students will leave with the ability to incorporate intricate details for each separation routine, including image manipulation and adjustments; proven pre-press shortcuts; repeatable index, four-color and simulated process; precise color matching; appropriate mesh counts for the best results; and correct emulsion application for optimum stencil thickness.
The regional workshop series grew from the suggestion of the SGIA Garment Decorators Group. "Our goal is to make it easier for printers to attend the workshops and reap the benefits back home. Because they're regional, students will spend less time away, have fewer travel expenses and still come away with the advanced print solutions your customers want," Shell said.
