New Features Increase Personal ROI for NEHS Conference

2006 NEHS features new certification tracks & roundtable discussions

Fairfax, Virginia — The 2006 National Environmental, Health & Safety Conference (Indianapolis, March 27-29, 2006) < http://www.nehsconference.org/ > is adding special programs that give attendees the opportunity to customize their learning. The conference will be held at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown < http://www.indymarriott.com/ >.

"While many attendees hold full responsibility for their companies' EHS activities, others have more specialized duties and areas of authority. This year's conference gives attendees the flexibility to create programs that satisfy their individual agendas," said Danielle Waterfield, Government Affairs Associate, SGIA.

New programs include roundtable discussions that allow for peer-to-peer networking on a variety of topics, expanded certification options and an orientation session for those new to the responsibilities of EHS management. Breakout sessions will cover how to negotiate an air permit, whether safety incentives work, storm water regulations and process-specific sessions for printing ink manufacturers, lithographers, flexographers, gravure printers, and screen and digital imagers.

General sessions will feature Jeffrey Denny, Resident Agent in Charge with the US EPA Criminal Investigation Division (Indianapolis Resident Office), and motivational speaker Kevin Bailey, owner of Safety Awareness for Everyone, who lost his right leg in a 1986 industrial accident. Tom Ravn, Coordinator of Environmental Affairs for Serigraph (West Bend, Wisconsin), will moderate both sessions.

The 2006 conference also promises to address more than 30 subjects < http://www.nehsconference.org/NEHS_Site/nehProg.htm > including never-before-offered sessions on "selling" safety, turn-around loss experience, reducing energy use, completing OSHA forms and controlling storm-water contamination. Attendees can also choose from sessions tailored to specific printing processes.

Organizers urge attendees to reserve their hotel rooms early. The Indianapolis Marriott Downtown is attached to the RCA Dome, which will host the NCAA's Final Four Tournament the following weekend. Reservation and agenda information are available online at www.nehsconference.org. NEHS discounts on rooms are available through March 3, 2006.

NEHS is a combined effort of SGIA < http://www.sgia.org >, Flexographic Technical Association, Gravure Association of America, National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers and Printing Industries of America/Graphics Arts Technical Foundation. Cooperative support comes from more than 15 local printing associations and professional associations.
