ISA’s Latest “On The Road” Seminars Tackle Management And Efficiency

Alexandria, VA - Sign company owners across the country are always looking for ways to streamline their operations and reduce waste and repetition. Now, the International Sign Association (ISA), in collaboration with the Texas Sign Association and the Greater Houston Sign Association, is presenting Value Stream Mapping and Making Your Sign Company Lean to Gain a Competitive Advantage at Marriott Courtyard Hobby Airport, November 4 and 5.

The two-day program will give an overview of the Lean business module, and there will be a four-phase simulation of how the process can be applied specifically to sign businesses. “I help businesses identify the non-value-added steps that creep into organizations and remove it,” seminar presenter Jim McKechnie said. “With the sign industry’s vast customer and supplier groups and varying needs, complexity has become the norm. Coping with that complexity has created enormous waste in many operations. There are surprisingly simple solutions that have not yet been tapped in most improvement methods.”

ISA Director of Education and Professional Development Patricia Hayden stated, “Value Stream Mapping shows how to map your production process and improve your cycle time with an eye toward improvement, and the Lean seminar shows how to eliminate practices that are repetitive and wasteful. These seminars are part of ISA's ongoing mission to educate and grow the sign industry.”

These two seminars are being presented to regions around the country as part of ISA’s new “On the Road” seminar series. To schedule “On the Road” seminars in your area, contact ISA’s Patricia Hayden at patricia.hayden@signs.org.

ISA is a 1,900 member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 foreign countries. ISA exists to support, promote, and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
