Entry Deadline For ISA’S 2006 Sign Design Competition Is Fast Approaching...Designs Due November 18

Alexandria, VA - Recognition among your peers can make you feel as if you are an oak among ferns, and the International Sign Association’s (ISA) 2006 Sign Design Competition is your chance to stand tall and shine amid your fellow sign designers, but the deadline for entries is fast approaching.

The competition, open to sign design professionals and students, is divided into Professional and Junior divisions. This year’s contest asks entrants in the Professional Division to create a logo and visual concepts for the International Sign Expo 2007, which will be held in Las Vegas, April 11-14, 2007. The deadline for entries in the Professional Division is November 18. Entrants in the Junior Division are asked to create a logo for a new career workshop that is geared toward young sign designers. The deadline for entries in the Junior Division is November 30. ISA member companies that sponsor Junior Division entries are grasping a great opportunity to shape the next generation of sign designers.

“Winning the Sign Design contest is one of the industry’s greatest honors,” said Wayne Burton, Chairman of the Sign Design Competition. “The designers who win one of these awards are the ones who represent the epitome of the industry. They’re simply the best there is.”

You can download specifications, key measurements, and contest rules for both divisions by visiting www.signs.org/AwardPrograms and clicking on “ISA Sign Design Competition.” For information about contest rules, contact ISA Education and Professional Development Director Patricia Hayden at (703) 836-6067.

ISA is a 1,900 member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 foreign countries. ISA exists to support, promote, and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
