FASTSIGNS® Sign and Graphics Centers Now Feature New Store Décor

CARROLLTON, Texas - FASTSIGNS® sign and graphics centers now feature a new store décor that is designed to be business-oriented, eye-catching and professional, said FASTSIGNS International, Inc., a worldwide sign and graphics franchisor.

“We wanted the new décor to look professional and business-oriented but not stuffy,” said Drue Townsend, the company’s senior vice president of marketing. “We wanted to use the décor and merchandising to educate in-store customers, promote our products and services, and communicate our ‘sign buying made simple’ customer experience.”

Over time, the new store décor will be adopted by the more than 475 FASTSIGNS® centers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Brazil and Australia (where centers operate under the SIGNWAVE® name).

In 2004, FASTSIGNS International, Inc. employees began working with a New York-based store design firm to update the look and functionality of the front end of FASTSIGNS® centers. A prototype was developed and reviewed by the FASTSIGNS® Franchise Advisory Committee (FAC), a 10-member advisory board of FASTSIGNS® center owners. A center in Arlington, Texas that was relocating tested the new store décor, providing additional suggestions that were incorporated into the new design.

The new décor features menu boards that display different kinds of signs and graphics that centers produce. Another feature is a banner stand that visually depicts “Good Better Best Best with Photo” signs, ranging from basic signs to signs that are more effective because of the use of full color graphics and photographs. “The in-store display helps our customers visualize how their sign can be made more effective and powerful,” said Townsend.

Michelle Levine, who opened a FASTSIGNS® center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in June, said of her center’s décor, “It helps extend our professional, high-quality image, and it is very inviting for customers to walk around in. Having a visual example of the Good Better Best options clarifies the sign and pricing differences for our customers.”

In Naperville, Illinois, the center that Shane Beard has owned since 1996 adopted the new store décor as part of a relocation. “We can use the menu boards and light box inserts to show and tell what we do,” said Beard. “Virtually all our repeat customers have commented on how much cleaner and professional we appear with the new look.”

Dan and Myra Phillips, who have owned a center in Arlington, Texas for more than 10 years, also said that the new décor allows them to display the products they sell. “By using the menu boards and light boxes, we visually communicate to our customers the power of full color graphics,” said Phillips. “The new décor package provides an updated, professional look for our center.”
