Sawgrass Technologies Introduces MS-One Printer, Fueled by NaturaLink™ for Direct to Cotton Printing
Unique Solution Combines Customized, Short-run Production with Advanced Ink Technology
CHARLESTON, SC - Continuing to bring cutting-edge, digital printing technologies to the global market, Sawgrass Technologies, Inc. today announced its alliance with MS Italy to deliver the Company’s first direct to cotton printing solution that utilizes Sawgrass patented NaturaLink™ inks. MS Italy developed the MS-One, a high-quality direct to garment printer with specifications that highlight NaturaLink™ inks, to produce profitable, short-run orders of customized, multi-colored images on cotton and cotton-blend garments.
The MS-One printer is a full-color inkjet printer based on the Epson 4000 Pro Graphic printer, with legacy Epson piezo print head technology. The MS-One combines efficiency in production with the ease of printing directly from your desktop computer. It features the ability to print photographic quality images directly on a wide variety of garments without the set-up, clean-up, and steps in-between that are normally associated with traditional screen printing,
“Sawgrass Technologies is very excited to offer the MS-One and NaturaLink™ to the digital printing market. The technology behind the system and the quality output are unparalleled,” said Rick Lussier, Vice President of Sales at Sawgrass. “This direct to cotton printing solution offers the total package for any business looking to tap into profitable, customized orders of any number or color.”
According to Ed Spear, Director of Business Development for Sawgrass, the partnership with MS Italy was a natural alliance. “Pairing our leading ink technologies with a leading precision equipment manufacturer made strategic sense, allowing both companies to focus on their core competencies. Additionally, because Sawgrass is a Certified Epson Service Center and the MS-One is based on Epson technology, we are able to serve as MS Italy’s North American Service and Repair Center.”
Because the MS-One is fueled by NaturaLink™, users are able to achieve higher quality images on cotton and cotton blend fabrics. The key to NaturaLink™ is the cross-link chemistry where inks chemically bond to cotton molecules. Heat activation causes the patented dye and pigment ink technology to “cross-link” with cotton to create a nanobright image. In effect, the images start bright, stay bright, and stay soft to the touch. Rather then sitting on top of the fabric, the inks bond within the fabric itself.
The MS-One and NaturaLink™ are now available for purchase through an authorized network of NaturaLink™ distributors. Sawgrass will be showcasing the system at the Imprinted Sportswear Shows in Long Beach, CA (January 20-22) and in Orlando, FL (February 17-19).
