ASPT Presents Student Screen Printing Awards...The Academy also recognizes “Best in Show” of Golden Image competition
Fairfax, Virginia — The Academy of Screen Printing Technology at SGIA ’06 (Las Vegas, September 2629, 2006) presented its top prizes in the first ASPT Student Screen Printing competition, as well as its “Best in Show” awards for the Golden Image Awards competition.
“These students’ accomplishments represent the future direction of the screen printing industry, and ensure its continued strong presence in the specialty imaging community,” said ASPT Chairman Michel Caza, adding the winners competed with students from around the world.
For the Secondary School division (vocational and high schools), the “Best in Show” winner was “Dane Cook 6 Color Index” by Drew Scheer (Walton High School; Marietta, Georgia).
In the Post-Secondary School division (technical school, college and university), the “Best in Show” was awarded to “Braunschweig” by Anja Wulff, Nadine Meyer, Nick Strauss, Martin Oho and Daniel Fricke (Kroschke Sign-International GmbH; Braunschweig, Germany).
ASPT, a body of leaders recognized for their contributions to the technological growth and advancement of the screen printing industry, recognized the students for their achievements and showcased their work in the Golden Image Awards display at SGIA ’06.
The students and their respective schools also received monetary scholarships, which were sponsored by ST Media Group International.
In addition to the student awards, ASPT presented its “Best in Show” awards to ETF Tekstil AS (Istanbul, Turkey) for “Triplus Foot on Stand” (Best in Show Textiles), and Homage (Las Vegas) for “Capri Sunset” (Best in Show Graphics). Homage also received the DPI André Schellenberg awards “Best in Show” and “Best in Digital Creativity” for “Royal Lilly.”
