Matrox launches the Extio F1220: The newest addition to the Extio series product line
Montreal, Canada - Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of graphics solutions for professionals, announces the Extio™ F1220, the latest addition to the Extio series of Remote Graphics Units (RGUs). The Extio F1220 enables the extension of one or two displays, audio, up to six USB devices, and two IEEE 1394 FireWire ports by up to 820 feet (250 meters). By separating the computer from the displays and audio, and enabling remote display control, the Extio series of products are an excellent choice for digital signage applications where displays are typically in remote public areas and where system maintenance and support can be difficult.
"The Extio F1220, like it's predecessors the F1400 and F1420, enables the PC to be where digital signage operators and managers want it, up to 820 feet away from public digital signage displays and in an easily accessed, private area for maintenance and management," says Ron Berty, Business Development Manager - Digital Signage, Matrox Graphics Inc. "The Extio F1220 is the first DualHead solution in the Extio RGU Series, still delivering the same raw performance as the quad version, but at a lower price point. This should prove to be very attractive to digital signage environments that need the power for dynamic signage as well as a competitive, integrated solution for extension."
With support for one or two digital or analog monitors at resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, 128MB of graphics memory, fanless operation (no moving parts), and a Matrox-designed graphics chip, the Extio F1220 provides long-lasting and reliable operation. The Extio F1220 RGU is connected to a Matrox PCI or PCI-Express Extio adapter card in a computer via standard multi-mode fiber-optic cable with Dual-LC connectors. Driver support is the same as that for other Extio models and includes features like Pivot support, PowerResfor robust widescreen display support, stretched and independent display support, and much, much more.
Key digital signage application areas for the Extio F1220 include: transportation, retail banking, retail signage, quick service restaurants, entertainment & hospitality, lottery & gaming, point-of-sale & kiosks and other application areas that require reliable, cost-effective, extension capabilities.
