Pat Matson Knapp Joins SEGD as Editor of Color Magazine
Washington, DC - SEGD (the Society for Environmental Graphic Design) is pleased
to announce that Pat Matson Knapp is joining the organization as editor of their
color magazine, segdDESIGN.
Pat brings skills in editing and writing that she has developed over thirteen
years of working in magazine publishing, primarily for design publications. She
is a former editor of IDENTITY magazine and has been a frequent contributor to
segdDESIGN. Pat is also the author of two books on design, Designing Corporate
Identity: Graphic Design as a Business Strategy and Designers in Handcuffs.
The quarterly segdDESIGN was launched in 2003 to celebrate SEGD’s 30th anniversary;
it targets designers and firms in environmental graphics, exhibit and
industrial design, architecture, interiors, landscape architecture, and communication
arts.
Editorial coverage includes complex directional sign systems, entertainment complexes,
destination design, digital environments, branding and identity, sports
teams and facilities, hotel and leisure environments, retail and shopping centers,
themed environments, wayfinding and mapping, interpretive education and exhibit
design.
SEGD is an international non-profit educational foundation providing resources for
design specialists in the field of environmental graphic design. The organization
has been instrumental in defining and raising the profile of the field as well as
recognizing its professionals. SEGD members are leading designers of directional
and attraction systems, destination graphics, identity programs, exhibits, and
themed environments.
Environmental Graphic Design embraces many design disciplines including graphic,
architectural, interior, landscape, and industrial design, all concerned with the
visual aspects of wayfinding, communicating identity and information, and shaping
the idea of place.
