SEGD Annual Conference: ReTHINK
Washington, DC The 2007 Annual Conference & Expo of the Society for Environmental
Graphic Design (SEGD) addresses the complex field of environmental graphic design and
the role of environmental graphic designers in rethinking their clients’ environments and
their approaches to designing. With Boston as the perfect setting and SEGD as guide,
the event will feature speakers who rethink design and our place in it every day.
The keynote session, titled Creative Rethinking : Rethinking Creative will feature Boston
native Brian Collins, Chief Creative Officer for Ogilvy & Mather’s Brand Integration Group;
Sohrab Vossoughi of Ziba Design; Ben Fry; and Pentagram’s Paula Scher.
The Conference takes place May 30-June 2, 2006 in Boston, MA. Sessions will include:
- Finding the Patient Experience
- Gearing Up to Go Green
- Courage and Curiosity
- Rethinking the Visitor Experience
The event will also include sessions on marketing and professional development as well
as tours of significant Boston locations such as the Big Dig, MIT and University Park,
Fenway Park, and Children’s Hospital Boston. Several “Tech Talks” will be held on June 1.
On Saturday, June 2, thirty-two outstanding designs will receive 2007 SEGD Design
Awards, which recognize excellence in environmental graphic design.
The Conference also features an Expo on Friday, June 1, where more than 80 exhibitors
will feature leading-edge products, materials, and services for specialty sign and exhibit
design.
