Roland Offers $5,500 in Instant Rebates for the AJ-1000 Grand Format Printer

IRVINE, CA - Roland DGA Corporation today announced instant rebates totaling $5,500 for the 104” AdvancedJET AJ-1000 grand format solvent printer.

Engineered for high-volume production of banners, billboards, signage and other durable graphics, the AJ-1000 is the company’s fastest inkjet to date. The promotion offers AJ-1000 customers who purchase between April 12th and June 30th a $5,000 instant rebate on the AJ-1000 and an additional $500 instant rebate when they purchase an optional MU-1000 mesh printing unit.

AdvancedJET AJ-1000
The AJ-1000 achieves a maximum print speed of 968 sqft./hr. and delivers precision image quality at 484 sqft./hr. Featuring Eco-Xtreme ink in six colors (CMYK+LcLm), the AJ-1000 delivers dense, rich colors and a wide gamut that together ensure beautiful, consistent prints every time. Superior ink bonding and rugged scratch and alcohol resistance provide lasting durability for images that maintain their quality outdoors for three years or longer.

To support long production runs and unattended printing, the AJ-1000 comes equipped with high-capacity 1 liter ink cartridges, an advanced ink delivery system that allows replacement of cartridges without pausing, and a heavy-duty media handling system for rolls weighing up to 220 pounds.

Automated Intelligent Maintenance System
The AJ-1000 also features an innovative automated intelligent maintenance system which automatically performs all routine daily maintenance tasks. As a result, manual cleanings around the print head and capping station are required only every two weeks. Due to these and other intelligent features, the AJ-1000 is ready to print as needed and can be left unattended over extended periods of time.

MU-1000 Mesh Printing Unit
The AJ-1000 can be upgraded with the MU-1000, an optional mesh printing unit that supports unlined mesh media. The MU-1000 detaches easily from the AJ-1000 and features a built-in drainage system for easy removal of excess ink. Support for unlined media makes it highly economical to produce mesh graphics with the AJ-1000.

VersaWorks 2.2 Advanced RIP Software Features Enhanced Productivity Tools
The AJ-1000 comes complete with VersaWorks, powerful RIP software developed by Roland engineers for the company’s inkjet technology. Built upon the genuine Adobe ® PostScript ® CPSI ™ RIP engine, VersaWorks features an efficient graphical user interface that allows users to maximize their Roland inkjet without a lengthy learning curve.

Version 2.2 of VersaWorks features Roland Color, Roland’s new spot color fidelity system. With Roland Color, professionals can take advantage of a variety of spot-color matching tools to quickly and easily match logo colors and other corporate identity elements.

In addition to Roland Color, VersaWorks 2.2 features Variable Data Printing, allowing users to merge TXT or CSV data fields with a pre-defined design template to output variable text and graphic elements. Ideal for labels, name badges, plaques, POP and POS displays, menus and other custom graphics, VersaWorks Variable Data Printing allows users to efficiently produce a series of digital prints in which text and/or graphics change from one print to the next. Using Variable Data Printing saves significant production time because it requires processing of the pre-defined template just once for the entire production run.

Other VersaWorks features include a wide variety of convenient layout, edit and print functions such as nesting, tiling and auto/manual-layout to optimize media use and reduce waste. VersaWorks offers the ability to preview jobs on screen, reducing ink and media consumption due to mistakes. Users can use two job queues for handling different print conditions and can automatically update VersaWorks through the Internet, ensuring that they always have the latest software version and Roland DGA ICC profiles available. VersaWorks is compatible with Windows 2000/XP operating systems.
