EFI Images In Technological Splendor At SGIA Conference and Exhibition
EFI's VUTEk superwide format printers and inks deliver industry's
widest range of capabilities, driving business growth for printers
FOSTER CITY, CA - EFI (Nasdaq: EFII), the world
leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today announced that it
will be showcasing a full range of superwide format solutions at SGIA '07,
October 24-27 in Orlando, Florida.
"This year's SGIA theme is 'Imaging in All Its Technological Splendor',"
said Chuck Dourlet, vice president of marketing, EFI VUTEk®. "And that is
exactly what EFI will be demonstrating at the show. With both existing products
and new product announcements, there will be something for everyone in the EFI
booth (#1800)."
"As we encounter growing demand for UV signage, we have been looking for a
solution that can give us breakthrough differentiation," said John Ryan,
Director of Operations, Andrés Imaging and Graphics. "The EFI VUTEk QS3200r
roll-to-roll UV printer is that breakthrough product. Its quality is
amazing and the speed is unmatched in the marketplace. We expect to be able to
develop a whole range of new applications with this printer."
EFI solutions that will be demonstrating at the show include:
-- The brand-new QS3200r, an exceptionally high quality, high-speed
roll-to-roll UV printer that produces images up to 3.2 meters wide with High
Definition Print (HDP) at 1,080 dpi, and speeds up to 1,850 square feet per
hour. SGIA will be the first public showing of this breakthrough product. Its
combination of quality, speed and application versatility in a UV platform makes
the QS3200r unique in the industry;
-- The QS3200r will be printing with specially developed VUTEk QS Series r
UV inks ideally suited for roll-to-roll applications. These highly pliable inks
have unique properties that allow printing on fabric, backlit materials,
banners, adhesive backed vinyl, static cling, and a variety of different
substrates and are suitable for projects with complex curves, such as kiosks,
vehicle wraps, even conforming to rivets, and more;
-- The QS3200, offering superior image quality on both rigid and flexible
substrates up to 126 inches (3.2 meters) wide and up to two inches (5.08 cm)
thick, and changeover from flexible to rigid substrates in less than a minute.
The QS3200 will be printing with EFI's industry leading QS Series ink;
-- The VUTEk 3360, a three-meter roll-to-roll solvent printer with EFI's
breakthrough BioVu ink, a corn-based solvent ink and the only ink recognized by
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). BioVu ink has no harmful VOCs
and delivers a wide range of brilliant colors, extreme durability, strong
bonding to uncoated surfaces, and excellent resistance to UV light and
mechanical wear;
-- The versatile VUTEk 3360 will also be shown with its Fusion option which
unlocks new opportunities by enabling the printing of solvent and
dye-sublimation solvent inks with one printer. Fusion's unique ink delivery
system enables a clean and rapid changeover between traditional solvent and
textile applications that is achieved without the need to flush the entire
system and the switch takes only two minutes.
-- EFI has formulated the new UltraTex dye sublimation ink for use with its
VUTEk 3360 Fusion option. UltraTex is an extremely versatile ink solution that
is wash-resistant and dryer-resilient for reusable indoor/outdoor
graphics. UltraTex ink infuses into fabrics to produce vibrant colors with
excellent draping capabilities;
-- The PV200, an affordable flatbed production printer that produces the
highest image quality up to 80 inches (two meters) wide, the most versatile
printer available today. The PV200 press will be printing with EFI's new UV
Series 50 specialty ink, the next generation of UV curable ink that widens the
range of compatible rigid materials including acrylic, coroplast and glass that
can be printed without the need for a UV glass primer or other special
pre-coating method.
In addition, the VUTEk QS2000 will be shown in the Pitman booth
(#900). This UV-curing printer produces superior image quality on rigid
and flexible substrates up to two inches thick and 80 inches (two meters)
wide. Plus, it offers crisp four-point text for demanding
Point-Of-Purchase displays. All VUTEk printers will be running the EFI Fiery® XF
RIP. EFI supports an open architecture for both its RIPs and VUTEk
printers.
