First Video Billboards Unveiled in Washington DC -- Coca-Cola and AT&T Sign On as First Advertisers
WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 19, 2007) The first and only video billboards to be approved in Washington, D.C. were unveiled today featuring multiple commercials from Coca-Cola and AT&T Wireless.
Each of the three 14’ x 8’ video billboards feature audio systems which enable pedestrians to hear commercials at street level throughout the intersection of 7th and H Street, one of the busiest pedestrian and vehicular intersection in the nation’s capital.
The billboards are attached to the exterior of Gallery Place, a shopping, dining, entertainment, office and luxury condominium development in the heart of the downtown area. Gallery Place and its new video billboards sit atop the second busiest Metro rail station and are literally steps away from Verizon Center Arena, Chinatown and several Smithsonian Museums. Within a few minutes walk from Gallery Place are the new Washington, DC Convention Center, Capital Hill, The White House, the Washington Monument, and several federal office buildings.
“Based on the available research we believe the video billboards at Gallery Place can be seen by more than 100-thousand people everyday,” said Patrick Pharris, president of Pharris Media, Inc., the exclusive advertising sales agent of the video billboards. “We’ve worked closely with the owners and managers of Gallery Place during the past two years to get these boards conceived, permitted and built and we’re looking forward to selling them out on a long term basis.”
Ten percent of the video content on the boards is being programmed for public and community service. For more information contact Pharris Media at (949) 635-0607 or www.pharrismedia.com .
