Graphtec Announces A New Wide Format Printer...the JS501-18ES

Graphtec America Inc. is introducing the next generation wide format printer the JS501-18ES 72” Eco-Friendly Solvent Printer. This SignJet Pro model is a cost/performance leader: having all the right features at an even better price. This printer utilizes 12 Xaar print heads ­ 3 heads per color (CYMK). The JS501-18ES also incorporates a 3 - zone media heating system design for better ink adhesion and sharper output. The new design features a Print head heater and automated head cleaning for consistent ink flow in a larger range of environmental conditions. Additionally, a dryer is integrated within the printer to expedite the drying process; contributing to faster job completion and shorter throughput times. While the printer can deliver up to 1440 dpi resolution, print speeds can be up to 97 square feet per hour at 720 dpi.

This device will deliver, and in some cases exceed, features that are found on printers with much higher price points, thus making this printer a perfect choice for Banners, Billboard signs, Vehicle Graphics, Vehicle Wraps, Floor Graphics, and Large Decals.

Graphtec’s Eco-Friendly, Low Solvent Inks are economical at 15 to 18 cents per square foot (depending on coverage and density) and are durable up to 3 years outdoors (with appropriate media and coverage.) The SignJet Pro 72” printer is compatible with a variety of manufacturers’ media, including most solvent inkjet sheet and roll media. It utilizes 12 Xaar® Piezo-Electric print heads, three for each color (CMYK), with several different print settings including single/multi-pass and uni/bi-directional modes. The SignJet Pro provides print resolutions of 360, 720 and 1440 dpi and prints at speeds of 387 sq. ft./hr (360 x 360) to 48 sq. ft./hr (720x1440). This printer is ideal for fast and low cost production of large outdoor text and graphics, full color banners, printed vehicle graphics, POP displays, posters, promotional graphics, and floor graphics.

The SignJet Pro connects to the PC via a USB 2.0 High Speed bus and includes a software setup utility and a basic SignJet RIP. The printer is also compatible with popular software RIP applications including SAI and ONYX products for more advanced production workflows. Take advantage of a complete Graphtec “Print AND Cut system” by combining this JS501 SignJet Pro with a 64” FC7000MK2 Cutting Plotter Series. Operating at 220VAC the SignJet Pro is more energy/cost efficient than similar printers that run on 110VAC.

Regarding Media Handling; The SignJet Pro has a 3-zone media heating system to insure quality prints, excellent ink adhesion, and rapid drying time for optimum throughput and productivity. A standard media tensioning system ensures consistent printing and an automatic motorized media take-up system provides for unattended operation.

The printer is shipped complete with a full set of inks and cleaning solutions.
