Eastman to Showcase Innovative Technologies for Visual Merchandising Market at GlobalShop 2008
Kingsport, Tenn. (January 28, 2008) Eastman Chemical Company will highlight a range of innovative technologies for creating attention-grabbing point-of-purchase displays and store fixtures at GlobalShop 2008, March 18-20, McCormick Place West, Chicago, IL, Booth #4735. Providing brand owners, designers, fabricators and retailers with increased design flexibility and durability, these visual merchandising advances include Eastman Spectar™ Frost copolyester and Eastman’s patented Encapsulation Technology.
Spectar Frost incorporates a unique finish technology that delivers sheet with a high-end, matte appearance, providing designers with the freedom to create stand-out store fixtures and displays. Due to its light-diffusing properties, sheet made with Spectar Frost can be used for a range of retail lighting applications, including illuminated signage, light boxes and decorative light diffusers.
Part of the Eastman Spectar™ copolyester product line, Spectar Frost also offers exceptional durability and ease of fabrication, allowing manufacturers to cut, saw, route drill and bond sheet with very low risk of breakage. The product’s inherent strength also enables downgauging, allowing fabricators to use less material compared to other plastic sheet, such as acrylic, while maintaining long-lasting quality.
Eastman will also showcase its patented Encapsulation Technology at GlobalShop. Ideal for creating unique aesthetics in the retail environment, Encapsulation Technology uses Spectar as a transparent substrate to encapsulate decorative agents, such as images, textiles and botanicals. This technology can add customized flair for a range of in-store applications, including displays, counters, shelving and partitions.
“Spectar Frost and Encapsulation Technology are examples of Eastman’s commitment to providing brand owners, designers, fabricators and retailers with innovative resources to create vibrant store environments,” says Michael Hartmann, global market development manager, visual merchandising, Eastman Chemical Company. “These technologies help meet the retail industry’s need for communicating brand messages and driving sales through eye-catching displays and fixtures.”
