“Industrial Inkjet Printing“ at viscom frankfurt 2008

Whether used for facades, floor coverings or furniture and accessories, on wood, metal, glass, textiles or many other materials ­ industrial inkjet printing opens undreamt-of possibilities for advertising technicians, architects, interior decorators, designers, printers, shop fitters, exhibition stand designers etc. At the same time, however, the technique raises countless questions such as, “What is today’s standard?“, “Which economic and environmental aspects are important?“, “What will be practicable in future?“ or “Where does any hidden potential still exist?“ All these questions will be explored in depth at this year’s viscom frankurt. After the great success of last year, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication will again present a special show on the topic of industrial inkjet printing and provide information on suppliers, possible uses and processing methods.

In addition to the latest inkjet techniques, the fair will also give an overview of innovative materials, providing tangible Information on the latest developments in this market: From its stock of several thousands of objects, the Stuttgart materials agency raumPROBE will present a large range of examples of innovative materials suitable as substrates for industrial inkjet printing. The special show “Industrial Inkjet meets Material“ will be subdivided into three segments: materials, inks for industrial inkjet printing, as well as examples of printed materials from a range of industries and new experiments. In practical tests with examples, PPS Imaging GmbH and Sander Digital Pictures will give demonstrations of the variety of materials suitable as substrates for printing.

Meet the Professionals
The short development cycle in industrial inkjet printing opens up new dimensions and lucrative markets for manufacturers and designers. To facilitate the exchange between exhibitors and visitors, professionals from the fields of printing, materials and inks will meet for discussions around the topic of industrial inkjet printing at the stand in the special show section each day of the fair at 3 p.m. (Saturday at 2 p.m.). On 30 October, the motto will be “Sustainability: production, application and disposal“, as environmental compatibility is also a major concern in industrial inkjet printing. For this reason, inks, materials and systems are to be tuned into one another at the production stage already, so as not to present health or environmental risks. In addition to processing, the disposal of both consumables and of the final product plays an important part. In this context, the special show at viscom frankfurt 2008 will presents examples of products in which health and en vironmental factors have been taken into account to the highest possible degree..

On the second day of the fair, 31 October, the discussion starting at 3 p.m. is to deal with “Durability: production cycles, materials and processes“. And on the viscom Saturday the subject will be “Practicability: feasibility versus economic efficiency “.

viscom frankfurt 2008 will be held as this year’s International Trade Fair for Visual Communication from 30 October to 1 November in Hall 3.0 of the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. The organizers, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH, expect 200 international exhibitors and 7,500 visitors from 30 countries.
