SA International Announces Driver for Roland’s VersaUV LEC-300

Salt Lake City, UT SA International (SAi), the leading provider of Solutions for the Professional Sign Making, Large Format Digital Printing and CAD/CAM for CNC Machining Industries, announces the driver for Roland’s VersaUV Print & Cut LEC-300 in Flexi 8.6v2 and PhotoPRINT 6.1v2.

SAi is currently the only RIP vendor offering a driver for the VersaUV LEC-300. The driver allows Flexi and PhotoPRINT to interface with the device in unique ways. All of the Flexi and PhotoPRINT products include a “Send to VersaWorks” capability, which allows the user to design in Flexi or PhotoPRINT Editor and send the job to the VersaWorks job queue for RIPing. Users can also drag and drop jobs directly into the job queue to be instantly RIPed and sent to the VersaUV LEC-300.

“SAi immediately saw the value Roland’s VersaUV LEC-300 would have for our customers, so it was an easy decision to create a driver for this printer/cutter hybrid,” states Sarit Tichon, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for SAi. “Additionally, SAi thrives on the cutting edge of engineering new drivers.”

“Roland is a long-time partner of SAi, and we are pleased to provide our customers using SAi software with an integrated solution,” said Rick Scrimger, Vice President and General Manager for Roland. “The VersaUV is the world’s first UV inkjet printer/cutter and a highly versatile production tool for applications ranging from labels and packaging prototypes to short run production of highly customized graphics. With the new driver, SAi customers can experience a seamless, efficient workflow across their entire production environment including the VersaUV.”

The VersaUV LEC-300 is a revolutionary hybrid device and the first of its kind, integrating UV printing and digital die cutting. Users can print textures and dimensions with clear varnish, as well as output to a variety of substrates. The driver for the device is included in the latest versions of the Flexi and PhotoPRINT families, which were released in March of this year.
